TOP 5: Raw Thrash Metal

Well, the idea of this thread is put our top five thrash works that have a very raw production and a bad sound quality.

For example, my top:

1. Possessed - Seven Churches (1985)
2. Dark Angel - Darkness Descends (1986)
3. Sacrifice - Torment In Fire (1985)
4. Kreator - Pleasure To Kill (1986)
5. Sodom - In The Sign Of Evil EP (1985)

Your turn!

I decided to put this thread here, because surelly the most of the raw thrash is in the Teutonic zone. Sorry, it's only my opinion.

I haven't listened to nearly enough of this stuff to give you any sort of list, but from what I have heard I REALLY like Dark Angel's Darkness Descends, Possessed's Seven Churches, Kreator's Pleasure to Kill/Flag of Hate, and Cynic's 1988 Demo.

And I don't like Sacrifice's Torment in Fire. Its boring as hell.

"Torment in Fire" is possibly the rawest thrash production on the earth! It's only pure noise with a slightly digestible sound and lethals screams. Incredible! But I understand you and I respect your opinion, each one with his tastes and ears.
For me, "Torment in Fire" is not boring, it's a very brutal and a putrid thrash metal direct to steamming.
OK. Other bands with raw works could be Sarcófago, Slayer, Vulcano, Minotaur, Onslaught, etc. Try with them.

I've heard Sarcófago's and Slayer's early stuff, not a big fan, though it is good. I have Bloody Vengeance but haven't gotten around to listening to it yet. Minotaur I haven't heard of and I've been meaning to check out Onslaught for quite some time now. Thanks for the recs!

Also, I'm listening to Hydra Vein's Rather Death Than False of Faith at the moment, great raw thrash.

Yep, Hydra Vein were from UK, and they were one of the best thrash exponents of that country. Try to listen "After The Dream", is not a raw thrash, but i think Hydra Vein managed to obtain a sound a bit more mature with that work. I listen their debut only once, so i don't remember too much their first sound.

3.Anthrax - Fistful of Metal (yes its bad product :))

i think that kreators pleasure to kill is PIECE OF SHIT i cant find anygood song on it its realy crapy album ok its FAST and stuff but the lyrics and the english of mille in that sucks so badly

I don't really care about lyrics, so Kreator's Pleasure to Kill is pretty good. Not a classic in my eyes, but still great. Took a little while though, the first few listens just sounded like noise.

Totally agree Viking, "Pleasure To Kill" its hard to digest on the first listen, It happened with me and happened to all those who know Kreator. But with the time, I could see this work like a indispensable violent thrash classic.
