Green tea - sort: Lung Ching

    Fish!

    Sorry wrong thread :)

I would go for a nice Prince of Wales blend right now, but this can change at any given other moment.

Much more important though is the question, do you first pour the tea into the cup and then add milk, or the other way round. Almost as dramatic as which came first, the chicken or the egg...

    Cheers

  • Peppermint for me!!

Not very adventurous I'm afraid - a good Assam for me, usually tea first and then milk.

More important to me is the great unanswered question: which biscuit?

I'm a fan of a good digestive or malted milk, perhaps a plain chocolate digestive if I think I've been extra good (and the missus isn't looking)

Er, mainly "ordinary" tea for me - specifically TeaDirect fair trade teabags. Whilst I'm here, the tea is brewed for exactly 3 minutes using freshly boiled (but not boiling) water and the milk (skimmed) is always to be added after the tea.

No biscuits for me, thanks - my body is a temple, Ommm...

When travelling to lands where the kettle is hard to come by and the water is hot, but not boiling - a drinkable approximation of a brew can be made with Earl Grey, which seems more forgiving, though it tastes much better without milk.

I try to treat mine with temple like reverence, but I can't help it - really I can't. Call me weak if you wish but I find it hard to resist it when the packet makes those 'come hither' eyes at me. Though the aforementioned missus has a really good disapproving glare which tends to curb my biscuit indulgence to a minimum...

I can only agree, more than often I've used the humble Earl Grey tea bag in parts unknown to get me through...

Buddha Amacha for me. it costs about €18 but it's the best around. Of course with Spa water, not ordinary drain-water. or else maybe a oorlong first flush. but never heat up the water above 70ºC! It makes green thea taste bitter!!

...Just kidding. I drink the cheapest around. I'm a poor student.

  • Ringtons!! sweet and milky

Earl grey and ordinary black tea, in a big mug with milk and sugar! Twinings is the best. Pity that the paper label comes off so easily which leaves you fishing for the little chord in your tea.

I want to die in my sleep like my grandfather. Not like the people screaming in his car.

  • Rooibos, but only the posh Waitrose kind.

Double Dragon jasmine scented green tea.

Yerba Mate when I'm feeling all Argentine.

And standard builders' PG with lots of milk.

    I love tea, me.

    I depends on my busyness.

    In a rush:
Black tea bag in a cup, boiling water, 3 mins brewing. Milk added after tea, just before removing bag.

    Occasional detox:
Green tea bag in a cup, water allowed to come off the boil, 2 mins brewing. No milk.

    Time for a sit down:
Pot-brewed tea bags, boiling water, 4 mins brewing (with tea cosy). Milk added before tea.

Ample time for a nice rest:
Pot-brewed loose-leaf tea. Needs a tea strainer, but worth it. Big leaves, big taste. Mmm.

    Biscuit accompaniment:
Rich tea or ginger nut. Excellent dunkers.

I think tea doesn't loose benefits with tea but just its taste and flavor. I don't drink tea with milk eaither.

Lapacho and fruit tea, both from some bio-food company.

And as milk doesn't add anything to the taste of these two, I don't drink them with it.

Also, I seem to have some kind of a minor lactose intolerance or something like that.

I love tea! I will drink almost any kind (except for this one kind I had the other day and I hated it, it was the red kind of lipton pyramid tea) and I usually drink it without milk or sugar. Just plain. :) Sometimes honey or lemon if I feel like it.

    But usually not. :)
