  • more like pirates of the carribean!

I think the Pirates of the Carribean soundtrack is amazing, but cant seem to find too many more like it. Do any of you know of any other soundtracks that are similar to pirates?

    Why don' you try...

Well, it really is something, huh :D
If you want something swashbuckling or so you can always try out the Monkey Island Sound Track, I think that all of Hans Zimmer creations are nice, Gladiator and Da Vinci Code are my personal favourites, right after POtC 2 & 3

  • Well, Pirates of the Caribbean aren't exactly the traditional "swashbuckling" sounding score, but if you're after that particular synthetic muscular action sound, I'd suggest you try other Zimmer & Co. scores, like The Rock, The Peacemaker, Drop Zone, King Arthur, Crimson Tide or Gladiator.

"Cuthroat Island" by J. Debney has a real cool swashbuckling sound. And it might be worth to look for soundtracks of Klaus Badelt e.g. "The Time Machine"

  • hmm.. I think if you like Klaus Badelt you will probably like steve jablonsky(but don't take me too seriously as I'm an addict)
He wrote for Transformers and the Island.
He writes absolutely beautiful score music - a song you might know which is very similar to his style is the theme from Armageddon.

I consider you try to find soundtrack as epic and inspiring as 'Pirates...', am I right?
Well, if I am, number one is The Lord of the Rings by Howard Shore... You probably know it, I don't know whether you share my opinion. Number two on my list here is... The Chronicles of Narnia by Harry-Gregson Williams. Maybe you should try it as well. Fourth and fifth places go to The Last Samurai by Hans Zimmer and Guild Wars OST by Jeremy Soule... Check them out if you like, maybe you'll like them.

Yes the Guild Wars soundtracks are really good. But almost all of Jeremy Soule's game soundtracks are of the epic character and nicely symphonic.

The problem with trying to make yourself dumber than you are is that you often succeed...

Well, since Pirates of the Caribbean is my favorite, too, let's try finding soundtrack(s) that is (are) really most similar to this masterpiece?... :)

But first off, I think it pretty much depends on listener. I may find some similarity in a certain soundtrack, but, on the other hand, you may find that they have nothing in common.

PotC is really vivid and splendid soundtrack. In my viewpoint, such are also aforementioned and especially these two: Indiana Jones (oh, yeah... :) ) and... Warcraft III soundtrack. Anyhow, these are worth it.
