Your favorite composer

  • Your favorite composer

Hey, we've hit 500 members. Thank you all for being here. :)

How about we get a new question going? Who are your favorite composers? The composers that you try to get everything they've ever worked on.

As far as myself, I really enjoy the work of Michael Giacchino. I first enjoyed his music on the Medal of Honor franchise and I've been following him ever since.

  • - Danny Elfman
    - John Williams

Why? They make the best scores !

Danny Elfman (you forgot Nightmare Before Christmas itaaa)
    Joe Hisaishi

Then, of course I like several works from other composers like John Williams, John Barry, Lalo Schifrin, Philip Glass, and others. But the 2 I just have to have it all are those 2 gentlemen above.

    Cheers,

I'd have to say John Williams, James Newton Howard and Michael Giacchino. I'd list Howard Shore, too, but I only like his Lord of the Rings stuff

  • Danny Elfman and Joe Hisaishi! Excellent choices.

I really love Howard Shore's scores for The Lord of the Rings, and also Harry Gregson-Williams' Narnia score. Both are just consistantly fantastic.

Oh yeah, how could I forget Nobuo Uematsu?! The Final Fantasy music is always great, and 'To Zanarkand' from FFX is perfection. ^_^

Hmm, that'd be a tie between Joe Hisaishi and Klaus Badelt (Pirates Of The Caribbean). Nobuo Uematsu is good too ^^

Thomas Newman, seconded by Don Davis and James Newton Howard.

John Williams is one of the best, and I love listening to his isolated themes for each movie. However, I don't find much replay value in the majority of his complete scores.
