in any case re-installation won't help.
yup there's no support for linux anymore (i'm linux user too) and it's lamentably. but ald versions works, like 1.2.0 and 1.4.2.
hope songbird team will fix the problem =(

For me that started on Saturday after I did a fresh install of Lucid. I don't remember what version of SB I was running before, now it's 1.4.3 and it just won't log in.

Yes, I think they already know about it and they will probably fix it in the next update. Is it me or does Songbird 1.7 use up more resources (RAM) than iTunes. After uninstalling Songbird it also ends up screwing up my iTunes. Think I'll give it one more shot when they release version 2.0.

    Problem is fixed

    Songbird team fixed that bug:

    1. Install the current broken last.fm addon to Songbird.
    2. Remove the broken sbLastFm.js file from your audio scrobbler addon of the profile folder. The file should be in the subfolder extensions/audioscrobbler\@songbirdnest.com/components.
    3. Download the sbLastFm.js file that's patched and save it to the same folder in step 2.

it works on ubuntu, mac and windows! I just did it on my ubuntu 9.10 and songbird 1.2 and it works!
Thx a lot songbird team!! ^__^

I've replaced the old 1.4.3 with 1.7.3, updated the add-ons (incl. the last.fm one) and now it's working. There's something new now - a webpage loaded withing the songbird browser and asked me to grant songbird permissions to connect to my last.fm account and scrobble.

A binary of the the new version is available here: http://skyzim.com/songbird-1-7-3-installer/

    Good luck...

Nice one, I tried this and worked for me:

    1. Check for updates
    2. After restart Songbird, go to Tools - Add ons and uninstall Last.fm
    3. Restart again ► Tools ► Add ons ► Get extensions
    4. Download Last.fm
    5. Login
    6. You'll be redirected to Last.fm site to allow access page.

    Voila!

  • baka-al,

cheers mate, replacing the .js file with the patched one worked and now i'm scrobbling fine in Puppy Linux.

    thanks.

  • Connection failure

Hi, after being asked to grant permissions, access was authenticated, but the player doesn't connect to last.fm. Has last.fm changed authentication procedure and the old patch doesn't function anymore?
I use Songbird 1.2 (best for my iPod sync), Ubuntu 10.4

    Login failed

After installing Windows7 (32 bit) I can't login to the Last.FM plugin on Songbird 1.7.3. I get the "Allow access" page, I click "Yes, allow access", but when I try to login again, another page asking me to allow access appears.

    smygen a dit :

The exact same problem here: browser connects to last.fm ok, but the plug-in just ceased to function and the "connecting to Last.fm" keeps being displayed interminably. It seems that last.fm has changed authentication procedure and the connection path name from http://www.last.fm/api/grantaccess to http://www.last.fm/grantaccess. I suppose the problem is in the sbLastFm.js script patch that was written for the old connection path (excuses, I don't know technicalities at all) and doesn't mesh with the new one. Perhaps, fixing this problem requires a new script or making some changes to the existing one!? We need master Alfred from Songbird here to resolve it.

  • well it worked for 5mins i guess :(

    yup not loggin in again

    fix us please

I can't login to last.fm from songbird the whole Saturday. It keeps opening the page granting access to my lst.fm account though I've granted it already many times. What the hell is wrong??

I was able to fix this problem on my install of Songbird 1.7.3 on Windows 7 by following Play-Actor 's suggestion. I edited the sbLastFm.js file and changed line 1399 from

    if (loc.pathname != "/api/grantAccess") {
    to

    if (loc.pathname != "/api/grantaccess") {
For me, it was just the uppercase A in grantaccess that was causing the problem. It is working for now.

  • Thank you itninja !!

I tried almost everything, but this was the solution.
