    Stopped recognizing ipod

I was very excited recently because after fighting with every scrobbler, ScrobblePod seemed to actually work in that it would scrobble from both itunes and my ipod.

However, it has since stopped noticing when my ipod has synced. So, if I try "Scrobble Now", even with the ipod connected, I receive a warning that I haven't synced for several days and so do I really want to scrobble now and lose those plays. I certainly do not, so I click no, but no matter how many times I sync the ipod, connect and disconnect, it refuses to recognize that it has been synced.

    Suggestions?

Ive been having this same exact problem, I've tried reinstalling scrobblepod, restoring my ipod, tried making a new user on the computer, deleting preferences, new itunes library and cannot seem to figure out how to fix this! please help someone.

    Workaround

I still don't know why this happens or how to make it stop, but I have found that sometimes simply quitting scrobblepod with itunes open, and then relaunching it, will restore rational behavior. There must be some other factor I'm not identifying, tho, because it doesn't always work. Luckily once it starts working, it doesn't break again for a long time.

    re: workaround

I tried your temporary fix suggestion, but when i relaunched scrobble pod and then sync my ipod I get a growl saying that scrobbling is disabled when it is set to automatic. Im really stumped here, scrobblepod was working great for me but i think i will have to switch back to iscrobbler.

    odd

Thats new to me, or at least I don't remember seeing such a notification. I'll keep an eye out and post if I see it, but at the moment I don't think I have anything to help.

    My workaround

When Scrobblepod stops recognising my iPhone, I:
    1. Unplug the iPhone
    2. Quit Scrobblepod
    3. Start Scrobblepod
    4. Plug in the iPhone
It usually works and I'm almost sure it applies to both iPhone and iPod.

    Fixed?

I don't know if there has been a change in iTunes or something, but I haven't had this problem in quite a while, now. Wish I knew why so I could share.

  • not fixed

I have this problem every day. Haven't scrobbled anything from scrobblepod in over 6 months. Please tell me someone's identified a solution..

Please, try the new version (http://cl.ly/4o3d) and see if the problem exists there.

Could you, please, post some more details (system version, what kind of iPod you have)? You can leave your reports here, or send them to scrobblepod@mmrr.fi.
