This group is for all the Poseurs who love the band Schwervon!

Schwervon! is a two piece rock band. Nan Turner (originally from Washington state) and Matt Roth (originally from Kansas) met at the Sidewalk Cafe in downtown Manhattan in the late 90’s. At the time Nan was playing in Post Riot Grrl band Bionic Finger and Matt was performing as Antifolk acoustic troubadour Major Matt Mason USA. After a series of “Jam Dates” at the now defunct Context Studios a handful of tongue and cheek lofi indie rock sketches were formed based around such banal topics as arguing couples on the street and food. The music of Schwervon! grew to represent the celebration of imperfect love through jagged rock minimalism. They were DIY long before it was a marketing strategy, mixing and recording the bulk of their music in their apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan where they live with their cat Gummo. They call it Olive Juice Music where Matt also produces music for other bands and operates an online indie music distribution center. Both of them continue to occasionally play and release music with other solo projects and collaborations: (Pantsuit, Kansas State Flower, Nan Turner, Major Matt Mason USA)

Together, Schwervon! has produced 4 full length albums and 2 seven inch vinyl only singles:

So your next album will technically be a "best of" but only with all new songs on it... that's kind of cool. /// When can we expect the new album? Is it likely to be out already this year? /// I am pretty curious to hear what the best Schwervon! songs ever written sound like...

Hey folks. Nan and I have been spending a lot of time this winter snuggled up in our apartment/studio practicing and writing. We've got about 7 new songs finished and lot of nice ideas marinating. Our plan is to start recording some demos by early March. We are pretty sure these are some of the best songs we've ever written. Thanks for listening.

It makes me really happy to see the Schwervon!-group constantly growing. It makes me even happier that major matt mason himself has become a member. By the way, if anyone of you has some ideas of what is missing in this group or how to improve it just let me know or go ahead and diy!

OK fellow Shwervon! lovers. Saw them again play an unplugged house show in Glasgow, which was a total blast. Nearly wet myself though when Stuart Murdoch of Belle and Sebastien walked in. Also talked to members of Zoey Van Goey. Check them out too as the debut album is excellent.

Schwervon! tore the Saki Bar on Wilmslow Road a new 'a' hole last night. The crazy guy outside with his plastic bag hanging off the fence had to be restrained by security, and chased down the road - to keep him from trying to get in to hear the sweet sounds unfettered.

Schwervon! couldn't get a gig in my hometown of Aberdeen so we had them play a private party in our newly refurbished kitchen. It was a blast. The new songs are the best they've ever written. This may partly explain my last shout too.
