    Charts seem to be off

I was busy scrobbling all week waiting with baited breath to see the results of my favorites mixed in with the rest. It seems the charts aren't working as they should. My personal chart shows I played many artitsts and tunes more than a few times, but they don't even show up on the SQPN chart. Is the group scrobbler not functioning properly?

    Look what I found

OK, since nobody responded to my question, I did a little research. It seems from what I could gather through unofficial google search that the charts are not how many times an individual may play a song or artist, but by how many users in the group have listened to the song or artist that week. So if you scrobble an SQPN broadcast 50 times in a given week, it counts as 1 play for the weekly chart (artist). If you scrobble multiple songs by an artist, each song will get a point, but the artist gets only one point (even though you may have played 10 songs etc... As I said, this is unofficial, so if anyone has more reliable information, feel free to post.

  • It's something like that yes, I've been around on this site for a couple of years now and seen many debates on IRC about this. They keep tweaking the system that decides these things to make it more representative, IMO they need to overhaul the overall charts of the site but thats just my opinion - Radiohead have been No. 1 for around a year now and at one point had the whole top 10 pretty much booked making them irrelevant.
