Songs About Our Lady

As an anecdote, I would like to point out that there are two songs about the Blessed Virgin Mary that did well on the pop charts back in the 1950s.

The first, Our Lady Of Fatima, actually made the top 10 in the pop charts in 1950, shortly before the dogma of the Assumption was proclaimed. Various artists released this song over the years.

The second, The Village Of St. Bernadette, only made the top 30 in 1958, the 100th year of the apparitions at Lourdes, but the top 30 is still quite an accomplishment.

While these are certainly not the finest works dedicated to Our Lady, they have a particular place in U.S. history and in particular the pop charts.
