    FFX =)

  • I hate unfinished games, not to say they are necessarily bad, but they could have been so much more, in this category I would like to nominate:
    - Vampire: the Masquerade: Bloodlines, for biggest amount of bugs per square meter
    - Neverwinter Nights 2, for the most anticlimactic ending in a long time
    - Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords, for cutting so much content from the game that a lot of the ending no longer makes sense
I loved all of the above games, even with their flaws and I'd like to see the guys making the decisions to release the games in the state they were/are in torched.

And just a plain boring RPG: Neverwinter Nights 1, the OC (original campaign), though the expansions are said to take the game to the level it belonged in the first place for an additional cost, of course.

That's not even a true RPG.... just a money makin' machine for Blizzard, and at this field it's a goddamn good one.

My worst experience with a rpg was a pc-game : The Temple of Elemental evil... far far away from the great Baldur's Gate II...

Of final wishes I ask none
    but one
    now that I am gone
    Lay thorns on my grave.

Two other IMO really worse RPGs are:
    Breath Of Fire II :
the special skills and the spells are so worse)
    and
    Lufia: Ruins Of Lore :
a wimpy Dekar + you fight with 10-15 years old childs + stupid story

    Diablo II
Couldn't play it more than 30 minutes. All so fast, confusing and not my taste. :/ Nearly finished the first one, but somehow this one sucked. :/

    Eternal Karma
Yeah, a no-name game. :3 It was funny sometimes(with a character named Poring XD), but gameplay-wise really bad. You never know where you had to go or what you had to do.

Hm... can't think of other ones. Oô There are some where I'd say I won't play them in the near future, but that's mostly 'cause of the lack of time(Treasure Hunter G T_T).

Treasure Hunter G sucks. It's totally stupid and really fast to play through. The battles were everlasting. But in overall it was too short.
I really wondered that there were only four islands from which you reached the last after about 10 hours. TOO SHORT :/

    It might be Suikoden 4

Not that its THAT bad, but comparing to S2 it sucks, even thought that the idea is the same- 108 colectable characters, lots of minigames, castle ( ship )...

But story sucks, and the "hero" of the game is so stupid and mute and later I was ashamed I gave him my nickname.

And, there is no map... but sea... sea and sea... blue... blue... sea... blue....
    LAND!!!!!!!!!!!111 :O

But, the music is fine, and the game has nice ambient, mediteran and so...

I'm surprised you guys hate so much games.I've played many but every have something good and something bad I guess.I've hated Space Siege, what a load of...

Reason not to search the damnation around, pain and illusions in the dark, when face with mirror eyes burn in shadows of the stairs searching for nothing less than...path...out...in...everywhere and inside the gut of your own ring. Band of gold that is harder than shackles of titan, on skin burning flesh, bone and soul.Freedom to choose, freedom to die, freedom to be...

Dunno which is the worst, but these are ones that (IMO) failed, despite supposing to be great:
    NWN, Morrowind, Gothic 3

You hated two of the best games of all time? Haha wow.

  • Well, I'm surprised at those that didn't like Final Fantasy X & X-2, though I'd hardy say X-2 was sold on "sex appeal. If such was the case, the Tomb Raider franchise has sold a lot of games based solely on a huge pair of tits!!

Not so sure I'd class Dirge Of Cerberus as an RPG per se, either. For sure, it's born out of a family of RPG's, but it's style is more akin to that of a Fantasy-3rd person shooter, than the RPG of other Final Fantasy's.

As for the one I didn't like...
    Hmmm... Tough one...
I recall buying one several years ago, based on a lot of good reviews [for either the PSOne or PS2, I don't recall which]. Many reviewers quoted stuff like "if you love Final Fantasy, you'll love this". You know the kind of thing. They were wrong. BIG time!!
The controls were quirky, the camera angles/shots were awful, & it was a little too cartoony & cutesy at times...
Beyond that, & the fact that I hated it, I don't recall it's title! Sorry!!

that is no real opinion... i played the game about 15 minutes...
But i COULD not play it any longer...
i really wanted to play longer, because all the world said it's such a good game.
    But... it didn't work...
this game pissed me of right in the beginning.

Gotta say, Morrowind is one of the all time greats and probably why it was Game of the Year. 15 minutes of Morrowind won't tell you anything really. As matter of fact, 3 or 4 hours might give you some idea, but you would still be missing out on the games full potential. Further, most avid players of Morrowind will definitely tell you, the first hour of the game blows chicken chunks and will make you never want to pick it up again. However, by the 4th hour, you will feel extremely the opposite as the game gets more comfortable and the complex, interesting story begins to unfold. Open ended RPGs can be overwhelming at first, since they just throw you into an unfamiliar realm, with no direction and say, "good luck". Those aspects actually make it more like reality, as if you were a lost prisoner, thrown in unfamiliar territory, you would actually be very lost for a couple days.

My worst of all time, might be Dungeon Siege - Castle Ebb and then followed by Dungeon Siege - Legends Of Arana, but I still played them both to the quick end. Yes, they were slightly repetative, too easy to beat and ended too quickly. However, I could still rate them average, like 3 out 5 stars maybe.

It's difficult for me to totally hate any RPGs - I started playing D&D on notebook paper, back when Gary Gygax first designed it.

Another one that was not so good, due to being very slow, plundering, losing my characters around corners and such, would be Pool Of Radiance - Ruins of Myth Drannor, V1.0 Copyright 2001, Red Storm Entertainment, Inc.

Lol, I completely forgot about that turd. Anybody want my copy? Should correct my post above, because Temple of Elemental Evil was atrocious! There wasn't one aspect or feature that was good and I played it for few weeks, just trying to figure out how you opened a chest or picked up any items. Looking at a PC screen that was 80% blackness all around was frustrating. Couldn't keep my characters alive either. I would def rate this one 1 of 5 stars.
