  Pitchfork is interesting. Their reviews are poorly written and they never give a rating above 6.8 to mainstream bands nowadays, but I still can't stop going to their site.

  Personnally, I don't hate P4K, I hate the fuckers who constructs their musical taste according to their reviews and ratings. And there's A LOT. Oh and, LOL @ "There's no website like Pitchfork where you can find new artists that nobody knows" HAHAHA

  Meh, I like Pitchfork. Their best of decade lists introduced me to some great music, so for that, so for that they're pretty cool in my books. I really don't pay attention to the numerical scores since they're so arbitrary and pointless and just read the reviews (which aren't as nearly indecipherable and pretentious as they once were imo). Obviously they have some pretty hilarious 0/10 or 1/10 reviews. The Lateralus review is my fave since it's so unbelievably condescending towards Tool fans (which no fanbase deserves) and reeks of pointless elitism. But I don't base my judgment of the site solely on certain extremely negative review, nor the overtly positive (see the My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy review). I enjoy the reading the reviews, ignoring the pointless numbers, and appreciate the site for introducing me to bands like Cocteau Twins, The Fall, and Can, to name a few. As for the newer reviews, I take them with a large grain salt, as anyone should with reviews on the internet.

  Pitchfork is not about giving quality music artists good ratings, but they only give high ratings to what they consider to be "hip" at the time or "earthshaking" innovation. If I would have listened to this music "authority", I would never have given Midlake "The Courage of Others" a chance. This is high quality music that is not considered "hip" enough for Pitchfork, and consequently got a very low rating. For this and other reasons, I have zero respect for this ridiculous excuse for a music authority.
