Lowest OMI

High OMI's great (congrats on opening the beta test btw), but so far what's the lowest OMI you have ever seen (from a real listener, not a spambot) ?

40 here ^^)

I've seen 45 as the lowst. I have no room to talk though cause mine is 73. I'm picky :-P

Bah, I don't like when people think low OMI's are cause for shame or anything. As long as you're enjoying the music that you're listening to, how could anyone fault you?

I was 138 before and I'm still 138, know of someone who increased the OMI by 10 points with the new one.

Idk, I don't really see it as a bad thing, but other people kinda do, oh well. Btw, one of my neighbors has an OMI of 36. Its intresting... All of my neighbors have an OMI below 50, hmm...

I could not agree more Arrell!

The OMI is just a personnal indication, it can help you find new music or maybe give a hint for people who visit your profile to see what can of recommendation they could make, nothing more ...

I find it personally very strange to try to compare or rank OMIs, there are as many situations as people and an OMI is just a number and hence very dependant on the way it is calculated (this was well explained on the old OMI website if I remember correctly)...

Anyway some people seem to like rankings and numbers ... I don't blame them either :P It's also fun indeed to try to find the extremes (non fakes that is).... I found an "infinite" OMI once, I guess in this group, made me smile :P

Just enjoy your music the way you like it !!!

Wow, how do they manage to have such a low index, I mean they do seem to listen to quite a few artists, not a lot but still not the "fake or extreme fanatic" type, I wonder.

To get a very low OMI you just have to listen to primary one artist, who've got only 1-3 tags.
Then the output is an OMI like 16;15. (or probably even lower in case of an one-tag-artist. If sth like this is actually possible^^)

I tried to make a profile full of artists with no tags (Lowtag) but then the OMI could'nt be calculated, it came with an error saying something like "graf = 0"

Then I scrobbled an artist with 1 tag, but then discovered that the tag is not visible on the artist's page (only in the player) so maybe the OMI can't see the tag(?) ..I'll find out next week
