• Thrash Metal 2006

So, this is a thread where we can all discuss about thrash metal releases this year.

This is what i've found so far...

Sun Descends - Incinerating The Meek
Delirious - Made For The Violent Age
Legion Of The Damned - Malevolent Rapture
    Demiricous - One
Witchery - Don't Fear The Reaper

I must say that all this releases are good and interesting, but my fav so far is Delirious album. Must have for all thrash fans. They are band from Germany, but their sound is more like Bay Area thrash bands. Vocalist sometimes remember of Chuck Billy. This album (for me) annihilate Kreator and Destruction last year albums. Check it bastards! :)

    Many, many more to come...

Delirous really suprised me as well. They really found their style to do this thing on this new one. Very different songs, for example Idiot Nation's main riff is probably what brings to mind Yyrkoon on Dying Sun and even old In Flames. The strong point of the album is how strong it is in every aspect, the variety, heavy and very enjoable songs and riffs, and most of all talented vocals.
I can hear the sweat and blood what these guys bringed to table when they did this album, they did every talent and skills they could and more. Excellent Thrash metal album. They tried things what could have easily go badly wrong in wrong hands, but these guys surely had the talent and they succeeded big time instead of that.

Also Sun Descends did great job on this their official debut. Total old school thrash metal mayhem.

Also Demiricous did very nice debut album. Good Death/thrash Metal. Their sound is very close to finnish Deathchain.

Legion Of The Damned did nice follow up for Elegy For The Weak what they did under Occult name before.

There will be lots of good thrash metal out this year. Sadus, Defiance from thrash metal comes to mind right now.

Those four albums i certainly reccomend to all who likes pure metal.
I will add comments when new good thrash albums comes to my ears. I think it will be strong 2006 for ug metal.

  • Warmachine - The Beginning Of The End

Very nice canadian melodic power/thrash band (album). They were co-produced by David Ellefson (ex-Megadeth), who is also playing bass on some tracks. This is their first release and needs checking in out by fans of melodic heavy, power and thrash music.

Have to recommend No Return's newest self titled album. High caliber death-thrash metal. They suprised me as hell, their heaviest album to this date. It kinda combines their two first to Self Mutilation, its fucking brutal. New singer Moreno is awesome. The album reminds me of Malevolent Creation on Eternal combined with Ten Commandments.

New Sadus is dissappointment btw. New Kataklysm is good, better than Serenity In Fire. Could be their best album album.

  • Bestial Mockery - Gospel Of The Insane (black/thrash)

The Scourger - Blind Date With Violence (neo-thrash with some melodic gothenburg elements)

  • Hellbox - Infernothing (old school blackish thrash from Finland)

One Man Army And The Undead Quartet - 21st Century Killing Machine (thrash death from Sweden)

New Tankard is awesome, The Beauty and the Beer is the album name.
I dare to say its their most heavy album, thrash metal with no bullshit.

  • Agressor - Victim of Yourself

Great quallity thrash from this brazilian thrashers. Keep it old school! Highly recommended.

    Attacker - The Unknown

Classic US power/thrash. Good stuff. Some members from Attacker are also included in another thrash band from New Jersey called Jersey Dogs (album Thrash Ranch). Check it out.

    Torture - Storm Alert (reissue)

So this is not new album, just reissue/remastered edition from this classic ug thrash album from '89. This is one of the best ug thrash metal albums ever! Torture just fuckin rules! Too bad they released only one album (just like the other Texas thrashers - Gammacide).

Every Tankard is awesome - though 1992 - 1995 era was quite different, less alcoholic and more serious but still great albums.

I haven't heard new album yet - though I'm not sure they can outdo The Morning After in terms of aggression and speed...

Well, I think this new Tankard is more like half-way of modern and half-way old school sounding, since B-Day (or even earlier?) they have been sounding like that and they handle it damn nicely. In my case I got into them through Beast Of Bourbon, and i still think its a very good album. Never been into older Tankard, reason is that its not heavy enough for me, and it sounds too jokingly done thrash to my ears. Sure its unique and the humour is great thing but its little too much in that case. Since B-Day they have sounded just much better and even more metal for me. Havent heard everything they putted out, should maybe check some of these so-called alcoholic classics out once again.

  • Finally, more Tankard fans... I thought I was the only person that listened to them... I've been a fan of theirs since I saw the video for "The Morning After"... so far, these are the Tankard albums I own...

    Cassette:
    Chemical Invasion
    The Morning After
    Zombie Attack

    CD:
    Kings Of Beer
    B-Day

Ah, listen to them, the children of the night. What sweet music they make!
  • Oh, you must procure other albums! :)

Morning After is after all, awesome! I like it. Should check all of them out. Comparing is stupid but lets say that they were/are much better than Forbidden ever was.

From early Tankard I also suggest Chemical Invasion - album slower, but (a little) more technical - they have on it fantastic instrumental, titled For a Thousand Beers

Talking about Forbidden... I actually quite like Twisted into Form (nice solos, and vocals in some places are very entertraining), and some of Forbidden Evil (veeeeeeeeeery uneven). I haven't heard two last albums, but I bet they are similiar to Coroner's Grin - which I like to listen when I have mood for bizarre bastad son of Voivod and traditional doom :).

Old School Thrash Metal as it should be done. I have heard only two songs (96kbps) (www.violatorthrash.com) but im sure other tracks are that caliber too, cant wait to hear them all. Been totally into Violator since Violent Mosh EP, but now, they proofed they can kick every posers ass on this full lenght. Long live Violator! One of my favorite bands on this earth.

Evile's new demo Hell. Fuckin unbeliavable. I know that sounds little retarted as a description but check it out and see yourself. Looking still forward to Violator's debut what i havent got to hear yet. New Legen Beltza, Dimensions Of Pain is good too, but have to listen to it more. Any news about Desilence, debut maybe coming out? Their first demo was goddamn awesome, if you remember.
