    Do it! DOOOO IT.

  • Thanks frequency71988 and Cylob. Those names I recognized are quite new bands. What I really meant was older sunshine from 60s and beginning of 70s. Something like Free Design, Beach Boys etc... Hit me again? (:

I could use something new to listen to. Preferably something based on the music in my top twenty...

that's hard so I am going to go with real country rather than whatever it is (country pop?) that you've been listening to

Anyone know anything about music from north-east Africa? I'd quite like some recommendations for good music from eastern Ethiopia or Eritrea. Only got one or two tracks, and they're on the African Serenades series... That and a top ten of tracks by Momo Wandel Soumah- only got one track (Félenko Yéfé), but what a track it is!

Pretends reggae isn't just the same song repeated ad nauseum at:
  • Let me try this myself for once. I want something sung in Danish (seeing how I'm currently pretending to prepare to study the language) and not too mainstream-rockish ... I'm thinking of anything from not too Grandma Radio-ish folk to acid jazz to deathrock, anything as long as I can hear Danish words and it doesn't just sound like a foreign language copy of U2 or, well, you know, those bands you get that sound the same sort of wishywashy in any language anyway. Something quirky and Danish, please.

As said in your shoutbox I don't know a lot of Danish language acts. But I grew up with Kim Larsen-LPs. I'm having a hard time deciding if I still like it because I grew up with it or because it's actually good. Anywho I enjoy listening to it. It's pretty mainstream pop, really, but as said, I like it - and the vocals are pretty easily recognized (not a lot of noise or other problems that can make lyrics hard to distinguish...)

    (edit)
I guess he's a bit hard to come by, at least outside the Nordic countries so I sendspaced a few tracks:

    Kim Larsen - Tik Tik

    Kim Larsen - Soldaterkammerat

Kim Larsen - Flyvere i Natten

  • Ooh, thank you very much, I'll give it a listen anyhow :)

    Kinky.

  • I'm curious what you'd recommend me.

  • hehe, thanks for such quick servicing too!

Sounds like some good recommendations...a few I have heard of, but a couple I had not, so a-shopping I will go.

And thanks for reminding me of That Dog. A friend played that a lot a couple years ago, but I never got mine. I remember I really liked it though.
