  Ok cool, glad to see some members are getting active over here. Welcome all new members & thanks Rodiero for starting a thread. I'll try to come up with some stuff as well. Haven't had much time for internet lately & my group Drive-By & Truck Yourself has been suffering from my neglect. Hopefully soon I'll have some time to post new stuff there as well. Peace.

  Garcia rocked, strummed, and improvised. He was a very versatile musician. Although his roots were in the blues (he grew up in a bar) the bluegrass/folk scene of the fifties was his early introduction to professional music. Listen to some of his pre-Dead stuff - it's out there - and you can hear the influences. As I have learned, the musicians from this time period were well equipped to move easily between styles. That's exactly what Garcia did.

  My bad, I thought that because you were fairly active over here you were the leader. I see now that it is melini. Ok, no biggie. I was just thinking it might be fun to start interacting with some members, that's all. Do you listen to southern rock at all? Lynard Skynard, Allman Brothers, Drive-By Truckers, bands like that?

  @ aoxomoxoa69, not a whole lot of activity going on over here, huh? Can you start a thread & maybe we can induce some discussion? Get some members talking over here you know? I love the group idea but I don't want to be on a page just to be on a page. I want to participate in some intelligent conversation!! Get some other Heads opinions on songs, albums, whatever:)

  I've been listening to some Old & In the way recently, I really like their stuff. They have a 2 cd release of live stuff they did. Awesome!! Jerry Garcia's The Pizza Tapes is a fav of mine as well.

  Personally my fav Jerry song is the collaboration he did w/ David Grisham on Friend of the Devil. I like his stuff w/ Mel Saunders as well. Have you heard Hooterroll? (I think i's one word, not sure) Then the bluegrass stuff w/ Old & In the Way is classic. I really like that rendition of Wild Horses. No disrespect to Mick:) How about your all time fav Dead album? Mine w/out a doubt is Dead Set, followed closely by In the Dark, & Blues For Allah.

  Hey fellow dead heads, don't you hate when someone posts their ads all over your fav artists page? These people are called spammers & oxcreek48 is the biggest spammer I've ever come across! Every song that plays i see shouts promoting his stupid food & music group. That's really gay, I would just like to listen to my fav jams w/out being harrassed by a spammer. Let's all get together & report him for abusive behaviour:)
