used to love nine inch nails and kmfdm but their new stuff just grates on me.

  • Nine Inch Nails are the biggest sell outs in industrial.

no, haven't heard of them yet, but I'll check them out asap

Fear Factory are great! can't say more ^^

  • My industrial appreciation is mixed at best.

I like some NIN songs but I get annoyed that his vocals never do anything really different.

I never liked to watch Bile play live, but I liked it when my friend played it for me on their CD.

My alltime favorite of the hard electronica bands is Snake River Conspiracy. But that's negotiable to weather or not it could even be called Industrial.

    Then there's the classics:

    Skinny Puppy
    Funker Voght
    Kevorkian Death Cycle

These days I've fell head first into the intelligent noise genere. I've been listening to a lot of Venitian Snares, wich is basically Square Pusher meets the 8MM soundtrack.

Skinny Puppy. They are the single most influential industrial act there is, and their gothic imagery when they play live is amazing. I love their experimental sound as well, and how each album has a totally different style.

  • Front 242 or Skinny Puppy. Maybe NIN or :Wumpscut: could get a mention.

I dont like Nine Inch nails that much, most of his songs are boring(Just like My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult). For industrial metal i like Static X and Strapping Young Lad
    Bands i like:
    -Funker Vogt
    -Icon of Coil
    -VNV Nation
    -Wumpcut
    -KMFDM
    -Apoptygma Berzerk
    -Grendel

I totally agree. I can't listen to NIN for too long because it's just so bland and generic.

  • I own a few NIN albums, but I also agree

Yeah i know what u mean, they have some really good songs but overall theyve churned out a lot of crap. i mean the whole of with teeth is prety shocking except the 1st nd last songz. And well actually good old maralyn manson is probably the biggest sellout in industrial; its basically just pop these days.....not that he was fantastic to begin with.

    And id like to say

how fucking good is the new front line assembly cd? VERY thats what :) im listenin to it non stop.

  • Razed in Black, it's Industrial Metal. Maybe KMFDM, but since much of Fear Factory's older stuff was Death Metal, I do not consider them in this field.

Oh yes, and I will throw Zeromancer into the mix.

    la dee dah

Asking me to name one group is like asking which one of my teeth I like better... they kinda go together. So a few are:

Skinny Puppy & Ohgr, Mentallo & the Fixer, FLA, Wumpscut

if you asked me 10 years ago Front 242 would have been in there.

  • American Head Charge are outstanding, got their debut album Trepanation the other day and some of the tracks on that are great.

    originals

Most of the Industrial bands listed so far belong to the EBM/Electronic school (Rammstein anyone??).

    Cabaret Voltaire
    Throbbing Gristle
    In the Nursery
    Workforce
    23 Skidoo
    Click Click (BDG)

    These are the pioneers.
