Erm, well if you haven't heard it then I'd suggest
    Elegy
as it was the first track I heard by Leaves' Eyes, and it fits with the group theme.

Another song I'm listening to right now is
    Biomechanic man
which has a pretty funky riff.

Finally for now, I'll go with something a little bit different and say
    Sweet Home Alabama
if you haven't heard it before, it's got a fantastic riff and is a classic song.

More coming in the future. : )

~Elegy was in my top 10 for such a long time. It never gets old. ;-)

    Much like Elvenpath.

Have you seen the video? If not I would be happy to send it over! :-)

The Gathering is a really strange dark band, but I like this one.

Ignoring the whole female-fronted thing about this group..
    Theater of Salvation
Lavatory Love Machine (Find the video if you can... ;P)

Apocalyptica..been listening to a lot of their stuff lately, couldn't give a favorite though :)

And just to round off my list of male-fronted songs...

    Symphony of Destruction (live)

Seems like that question has been answered then. It's a great version, it's pretty much the same until most of the way through, then it just has this amazing orchestral backing coming in.

    [track]Nightwish – Symphony of Destruction (live) [/track]

Is that the same as the Megadeth version or not?

Well, obviously it's a cover of it...I prefer the Megadeth version myself, but they're both very good imo :)
A lot of people think the Nightwish cover is btter than the original :)

  • Okay, trying to recommend things no-one has recommended yet :)

    Silentium - Unbroken
Silentium - Empress of the Dark

    Honour guide me.
  • After Forever - Boundaries Are Open

I would recommend Epica, because they're my favorite band, but I felt that I need to add this song, because it's what I'm listening to at the moment. Absolutely LOVE the keys in this song. If you are a big fan of keyboards/keyboard-laced metal, this is a great song (as well as the entire album, Remagine... wonderful album).

  • ''She Dies'' by Draconian

''The Burning Halo''....is a great cd..Lisa vocals are amazing...the track ''she dies''a story of love and sadness...these lyrics have been thoughtout with great care, that piano is a like a ghost that floats in and out of the song, the guitar takes you to the edge of Draconian darkness...and Lisa like an angel, keeps us from being afraid.I have never known a band to touch me so much in there music and songs, this is a very emotional song, its such a great song to start with.

It Grieves My Heart [the "Where Lovers Mourn" version--the Demo version features only sparse female vocals]

Lost [the whole album's damn good]

    Mine Eyes

I'm dying to get my hands on a band called Asrai...they sound fantastic [powerful female vocals]...anyone have any leads?

  • The Answer
it's a free mp3 and the song is amazing!

  • The new Xandria album is great, especialy 'Beware'

And I can very much recommend Sacrilege from Tristania, great drum play!
