Last.fm is an international site; if you want to be understood by everyone, write in ENGLISH! We can't have a decent conversation if shoutboxes on artist pages are flooded with various languages; unfortunately, poliglots are not very common. Join if you think that people should use English language to write in shoutboxes on artist pages, group pages and similar, even if you are not from the English speaking countries.

@BitchDestroyer, I'm all for multi-culture and multi-languages, but unfortunately, very little amount of people know more than one or two languages. So, on an international site, people should use English because most people know it, at least the basics. If you want to discuss an artist in the artist's shoutbox with other people, using English will probably give you much more opportunities because it involves the biggest amount of people. I am not English myself (and, besides English, I know a little bit of Italian and Russian), but where would I get if I constantly made comments in my native language (Croatian)? Using only your native language doesn't really spread multicultural activity, because you limit yourself only to conversation with your own countrymen and women. Without one universally understood language, we cannot have a conversation. Right now, that language is English (due to historical events). /super-late response.

I know English enough to write it, but fuck, why English? It looks like British Empire stretch across the whole Earth. This is unhealthy tendency. When i want to speak English, i do, but when i want to speak Russian (my native language) or Ukrainian (language of my country which i love and respect), i do. S.O.D. sang about this problem on their famous album "Speak English or Die", which is ironic and full of sarcasm, especially because Billy Milano is italian. So, let's leave this absurd in the past. Multiculcture, multination, multilanguages! Sorry for bad grammar indeed, but i hope you understood me.

Oh, how much I understand you, guys. I hate people speaking unknow languages. though I speak Russian in my ordinary life, I never use it in shoutboxes on Last.fm except tet-a-tet conversations with Russians
