Dedicated to people who think that metal is a disgusting genre...and prefere to listen to more relaxing and soft music like pop , rock , rap , jazz , rnb , classical...


This group was created in response to the narrow-minded, the immature and the pretentious metal fans who listen to virtually nothing but metal and metal-sub genres and who perpetuate stereotypes of metal fans being close-minded, loutish and/or pretentious.

This group was also created in retaliation to the i hate-everything-not-metal sentiments that a large part of the metal community upholds through groups such as I hate Techno, where top 10 group charts are virtually all metal. i hate-rap, i hate-mainstream, i hate-emo, i hate-nu-metal; any "i hate-[genre]" group on Last.fm seems to be filled to the brim with metal in its charts. This is no coincidence.

Metal fans tend to fit in to the following categories:

1) Immature louts who listen to thrash/black/metalcore/death metal who condemn all other genres, usually for reasons such as "its not heavy enough" or "it takes no talent" or "its for fags".

2) Pretentious geeks who listen to technical/prog/post-metal who praise technicality when really it's just masturbatory. These fans look down upon the fans in point 1, making them twice as pretentious considering that it's all just metal in the end.

3) Creepy black/gore/suicidal/grind fans who probably should have been aborted.

I'm aware that not all metal fans fit into these stereotypes, though I'm sure there are several who don't even realise that they do and will condemn me nevertheless.

    Metal is a genre so inmense, I find it almost impossible for somebody do dislike it entirely. I see that this group does not have a problem with metal itself, but the stereotype of what a metalhead is, which is unfortunate. Metalheads can be somewhat narrow minded sometimes, but that does not make the genre instantly bad. Yes, I am a metal lover :P

    @ Masafake Metal is music too! Death metal is just awesome. Like the screaming in it. I love it. And I'm just a 14 year old girl. Alot of people like metal. I know many. You can hate it, but no metal lover would care. We do at least dare to be different. We don't care what people think of us. You can ask me why I'm posting a comment if I don't care, but I just want to let you know. It is just a genre! I'm saying this because of my favourite bands, Papa Roach, As I Lay Dying, DevilDriver, Rammstein and Amon Amarth! You are just noobs if you create / join a hate-metal group. Get to live with metal! Just like I have to do with pop and the other genres which I hate (all genres but rock / metal ). But that's how people want to be. Get to live with it!
