most scary film of all time

  • The Exorcist, of course. I should watch it again... oh, and The Blair Witch Project scared the shit out of me when I was 11 or something but I watched it one year ago and it was quite boring.
Shutter was scary, too. And recently I've seen [Rec], omg, that was really scary. ;o

  • the exorcism of emily rose really made me freak out every night at 3 a.m. for a while after I watched it...

REC or the Shining. REC is a spanish horror film that is guaranteed to scare the living shit out of you. As for The Shining, well I think you guys already know the story behind that film.

  • The Grudge (jap) , i hardly slept for a week after watching it!

  • Ju-On: The Grudge and Ju-On 2: The Grudge, very scary!! My sister started crying (OK, she doesn't have good nerves, but she saw one scene by mistake ^.^ I really laughed about her), I didn't cry, but it was hard to sleep the first night!
And very scary, too: The Ring 1&2. After this films I couldn't really sleep for a week or so...

    Bring Me The Horizon, Bitch!
  • I'm really into Japanese stuff so I would have to say The Grudge 1 & 2,The Ring 1 & 2...mmm Shutter too...really disturbing....then there is Shinning...that' s a classic(some parts are really freaky :O)...hmm then there is Poltergeist(first,I can't believe no one mentioned that...)...that's it

  • I have to admit there were one or two scenes in [Rec] and in A Tale of Two Sisters that made me jump... the little girl in Phone was creepy too

when I was a kid the only movies that bothered me at all were Prince of Darkness, The Prowler and The Shining

nothing has ever really scared me though... I have been watching horror since I was in diapers so I am used to it though there are a few movies that have grossed me out... like Mermaid in a Manhole (had to keep turning it off because it was making me gag) and Dumplings (was eating oreos with milk the 1st time I saw it and I crunched a cookie in my mouth as dumpling was being eaten and it crunched and I crunched and I could just feel my tummy getting upset)

Mimic freaked me out a bit... I hate bugs...

Pain melted in tears, and was pleasure; Death tingled with blood, and was life.

for me it's probably exorcist hmn there isn't it to many really scary but i can't recall any other

    ironia na prezydenta !
  • How can people say that Shutter was good? It sucked major animal balls. Anyway... Dead Silence is pretty scary and The Shining too. But if you want to be afraid it's best to watch horror movies alone.

For me "Shutter" is a very good horror film. Without useless special effects, blood splitting all around. Nice atmosphere, good playing, good fabular plot and very nice ending.
"Candyman" is one of my favourite horror movies. I remember when I was something about 8 years old and I watched this alone at night. Shit, it was really scary. I love climate of city showed in Candyman.
"The Shining" is quite good too, but book is better.
I like "REC" (spanish) a lot. There's lot of "jump scenes", it looks good made with amateur camera and ending is great.

"Dead Silence" by Leigh Whannell and James Wan? This movie incredibly sucks. I wasn't sure if I'm watching a horror movie or next episode of "The Muppet Show". It was really funny film. I was dissapointed that Whannell did such a lame and boring movie. Only horrifying thing in this movie was that when I realized that I've lost 1h30min of my life on watching this so called "horror".

  • for me it's The Grudge...
wow! everytime i remember that movie i start looking around me..

...but you never touched the dial ^^
  • I don't see the big hype over Shutter, a boring, predictable and unoriginal horror movie.

"Dumplings" - it made me cringe. Numerous times.
"The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (original!) - It just has a freaky atmosphere, and the way it's shot makes it seem so realistic, and it grosses you out even though there's not much blood spilled. Brilliant!
"The Descent" - Great movie. Made me jump a lot, and those monstery things were pretty cool.
"Halloween" (original!) - The closet scene is one of the most suspenseful scenes from any movie, horror or not.
"The Omen" (original!) - Great atmosphere - one of my favorite movies of all time! The whole film has a very eerie feel to it.

TCM the original movie. To this date I get goosebumps whenever I hear a chainsaw, and when I do, I get vivid pictures in my head.

    and from the beginning:

One of the most psychologically disturbing films I've ever seen is 'Pet Sematary', it freaked me out a lot, don't think I'd ever watch it again.... Also, 'Rec' [spanish version] was brilliant for the jumps.
I'm still too nervous to watch 'It'....

Also, the re-make of 'Black Christmas' scared the shit out of me because I saw it in the cinema and that never helps.... though I watched the original last year and it definitely merits a watch; the phonecalls and the ending are pretty creepy.

  • Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, true horror at its finest imo

  • the Shining

    Scariest thing ever.

    D:...

  • Wanna give props tho the original halloween, creepy as fuck, the music and the lighting are eery, for the scariest movie i ever saw in my adulthood, has to be ju-on the grudge (not the remake), I think it's the only movie that made me jump and eat all of my nails.
