  Well I have the sodding flu....so here is my "before 'kin Stan kicks me out" moan..... why oh why oh why oh why is that the minute to you mention that you have flu to a woman...she rolls her eyes......mutters something about "man flu" makes it clear she thinks you has a cold.....and seems to indicate that once again...."if only you knew the pain *I* have to deal with......." I HAVE FLU!!!!!!!!!! and I hate it...... why the bloody hell hasnt someone invented a cure yet? eh? eh? eh?!!!!!

  Why was it reported in the papers that 4 out of 5 vitamin supplements and the like have no proven value, does that tell me which ones are good, NO, does it tell me which ones are no use, NO. So what is the point of reporting this? Hmm?

  I've heard so much about alternative energy sources over the last 30 years, like the wonder battery that's just around the corner, and it just ain't gonna happen. Look at all these wonderful Co2 less battery cars in London, all they do is move the Co2 to the power station, this is the answer to all our problems? I don't think so!

  Actually....I reckon its a lot simpler than that.......if the US and Europe could just forget about their defense budgets for a while....and pour all those trillions of pounds into an *alternative* fuel source......so we can just dump the reliance on fossil fuels....then we would be in a much better place and could also stop stomping about in the middle east and leave the oil producing regions alone.......

  Wow Phil, who wound you up, I get where you're coming from, and agree much as we all moan, we are going to have to pay. But this is shortsightedness, as I feel all the so called green initiatives are. There are so many things, like air travel for example and cars, shouldn't the question be, not so much how much should these activities be taxed, ( which in itself means nothing the the rich) but whether we should continue doing it. Yes no more flying would cost a lot of jobs, as would no more cars, but unless there are some major technology breakthoughs, that is exactly what will happen. It is now that we should conserve all fossil fuels, except for essential use, so that in the generations to come there will still be fossil fuels for those essentials. The greens need to think and go a lot further,and now, not in ten years time.
