Since this is a topic that should be solely devoted to BAD covers I contribute the following:

1.) Counting Crows - Ghost In You - Cover of Psychedelic Furs
2.) Motley Crue - Smokin In The Boys Room - Cover of Brownsville Station
3.) Gun n Roses - Knocking On Heavens Door - Cover of Bob Dylan
4.) Counting Crows - Big Yellow Taxi - Cover of Joni Mitchell

  • I cant remember any awful cover, i just dont like to let that kind of info taking space on my mind. So, i could say that

FALL OUT BOYS - BEAT IT vs. its funner than the original, not the greatest cover, but really fun, as they are.

Uh-uh, a sucessfull cover is With or Without you by CELLAR 55.

  • God-send covers

-Johnny Cash's covers of Depeche Mode "Personal Jesus" and NIN "Hurt"
-The Flaming Lips' cover of "The Song Remains the Same" by Led Zeppelin
-Primus' cover of Pink Floyd's "Have a Cigar"
-Ben Fold's Five cover of "She Don't Use Jelly" by The Flaming Lips

The Moog Cookbook's cover of "Black Hole Sun" by Soundgarden is just ridiculous.

Dare I even bring up Avril's cover of System of a Down's "Chop Suey"?

Emilie Autumn also attempted to cover Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody"... unsuccessfully. It's cringe-worthy, and I say this as someone who likes Emilie Autumn.

Anything Avril Lavigne has ever covered is awful. And also sad.

Pink Floyd : Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Transatlantic (2001)

I'll mark them in the good ones (cover).

They are 4 men from the best Progressive bands of the 90'-00'.

They are not too demonstrative as this sort of virtuosi but respectful of the spirit and they have fun too. And you ?

I love Sonic Youth's cover of 'Superstar' by the Carpenters

I don't care for Vampire Weekend's cover of 'Exit Music (for a Film)' by Radiohead. It sounds too much like the original. Why do a cover if you're going to carbon copy?

Africa, by Karl Wolf. It boggles my mind how this can be doing so well on the Canadian charts. I can't stand it.

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!! staticdreamgirl was right about Cullum's High and Dry.... Never heard a song get that kinda treatment before... OK slight exaggeration, but it's damn close to suicide... My own suicide....
