    The most respectable and BIG in all-life-achievements conductor is Herbert Von Karajan.

    My favorite music is from E.Grieg, F.Liszt, Mozart, etc.
    The classical records I value most of all are the ones who won/werenominated for Grammophone Awards (Classical analogue of Grammies)

    As mentioned in my other thread of this group, my favorite classical composers and performers are

    J.S.Bach, L. V. Beethoven, J. Brahms, G. Handel,G. Mahler, W.A. Mozart, A.Vivaldi (composers); Herbert von Karajan, Michael Tilson Thomas, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Lang Lang, Yundi Li, Vladimir Horowitz, Murray Perahia, Yo-Yo Ma(Performer - Conductors, Pianist, Violinst).

    If you just asking for composer, performer and conductor only, then this is what I recommend...

    Composer:
    Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Dvorak, Brahms, Strauss II, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Khachaturian, Vivaldi, Mozart, Chopin... and many more...

    Performer:
    Glenn Gloud (piano), Pavarotti (vocal), Mado Robin (vocal), Ithzak Perlman (violin), Lazar Berman (piano)...

    Conductor:
    Kurt Sanderling, Leonard Berstein, Bruno Walter, George Szell...

    Beethoven Symphonies Collection conducted by Karajan

    Hi friends, during my recent trip to Japan, I managed to find and buy Beethoven Symphonies Colletion conducted by Karajan (6 individual Cds but not in box set)and produced by Deutsche Grammophon.

    It's superb recording, though it was original recorded back in 1960s to 1970s. Good recommendation
