Youngins who like David ?XD

Now I am 26 and well... I get this from my mother a lot.."He is OLD. You shouldn't like him.." and then she says.."He was popular when I was a kid." lol Though he isn't the only one she has said this about but my collection is well.. limited when it comes to older artists.. (try like two or three) and she says it every time. lol David though I think she had more of an expresion about.. then she has to go on and tell me things i don't want to hear when we see videos..lol

Tho she is the only one who says anything.. Dad just don't care... Tho he did give me a couple of song titles he liked once. lol

I want to know if I stand alone. haha

To be fair, at least Bowie is still alive. Tell your mom that! ;) A lot of younger people like a lot of the classic rock bands and many of them are either defunct or one or more of their members are dead. It just goes to show that great music is timeless. :)

I'm a "youngin" Bowie lover, too! There are a lot of young people that are getting into Bowie, either on their own, through their parents, or through musicians like Lady Gaga or Adam Lambert. Either way, he's a prominent influence among many of todays musicians and music lovers.

I find the bands that you discover on your own tend to be some of the most fulfilling listening experiences, although I do wish I had been turned on to Bowie at a much younger age, I'm going to be 29 this April and I've only been a real Bowie fan for a few solid years now. I say your never too young or old to form an affinity for truly brilliant art!

Hey, you're 26! I can't see how it is weird at all at this age, anyway it wasn't for me when I was 15, besides there are a lot older artists and bands that have broken up ages ago, so, Bowie still in business, I really can't understand your thing at all! :)

So, you are not alone, although most bowie fans would probably consider you young, there is also considerable a group of people, to whom you are rather.. old really, no offense!

It's very strange but I got really into Bowie when getting older, even i was fan when i was 12 and hear ''Heroes'' on the radio, he was always there , but become a true fan only 5 years ago, when i was 40... it's still amazing how the younger generation still get into Bowie , but it's more amazing how the younger generation are still big into The Beatles too give a example,

I'm 18 now and have loved Bowie for a pretty long time. I think it was due to the fact that my older brother was kind of obsessed with Labyrinth, and so I was exposed to that movie a lot as a child. It wasn't until I was like maybe 14 that I started getting really into his music. It's weird though. I love him and my parents couldn't even name any other album than maybe Ziggy Stardust. They are always weirded out by seeing me singing all the lyrics to songs from their generation that they don't even know.

"he's not a good role model you know, he uses drugs" well i have too agree with you dad about that lol, no he is not a good role model, but is there anny artist who is ?? almost every of my idols is into drugs, alcohol or whatever ...none of my idols is a role model, but they all make great music :D

I'm 19 and I've been into Bowie for about a year and a half now. I sort of discovered him on my own though. None of my parents really listen to him, but they know who he is and have heard (and like) some of his songs. It just never really transmitted to me though. In a way, Bowie kicked down the door for me music wise and since then I've discovered so many great bands/musicians I thought I would never get into. And some of those bands weren't even influenced by him.

I'm a Bowie fan for life, that's for sure. ♥

I'm 15, and Bowie is my favourite artist! His songs are classics, and they're a hell of a lot better than what people my age usually listen to! :L <3

Im 21 and he is my favourite artist. I've been Bowie fan for almost 6 years and I still love him. To me its more than just the music: he courage to change music style and do whatever he wants is a great insipiration. He is in my mind constantly and think its kind of strange :D

Whenever I listen to him and close my eyes, I get a very good feeling, relaxed happy and proud :D
