I dont use last.fm to scrobble in canola because it reports only "album artist" and not the "track artist" making "Various artist" cds worthless.

I use Last.FM and Canola more for the streaming music. it's usually a better collection than what I have on my local device storage.

Hi ju-key. It's just another place to "hang out", really. Someplace more informal than itT's Canola sub-forum, which tends to be more for technical discussions. Not sure how it all started, but "geeky" music-playing software are well-represented on Last.fm. There are Rhythmbox, Banshee, amaroK groups out there -- some of them even invite you to join when you run the software and enable Last.fm scrobbling.
