Which Canadian Artist is your favourite and why.

My would definately be The Tragically Hip and Barenaked Ladies.
I listened to tons of The Hip during high school and I've always had a soft spot for BL eversince I bought my "Gordon" on yellow casette tape when they were playing on Yonge street in front of Sam the Record man.

  • avril lavigne so much <333 because she has got blonde hair and blue eyes and she makes me crazyy

  • Shad. Great MC. Biggest thing out of Canada till Quebec separates.

Barenaked Ladies, because they made the Big Bang Theory Theme xD

  • Metric, although there are many, they are my favourite example of how good Canadian indie music is. That and they are my favourite band anyways.

Blue Rodeo, I like Jim Cuddy's voice, Greg Keelor's anger/painful songs and Neil Young-esque guitar solos. Overall they are my favourite band, ever.

What is anything if not something else?
  • Bryan Adams♪ Nelly Furtado♪ Avril Lavigne♪ Tegan and Sara♪ Skye Sweetnam♪ love their voice & songs!!! Σd(ゝ∀・) ♥

  • Rush. I don't even think that needs explaining.

Rush comes to mind right away. Not many Canadian artists/acts have such a storied history. Nickelback strangely came to mind as well, but they're too predictable and don't have the soul that Rush has. Also, Billy Talent and Kim Mitchell are high up there for me.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." -Romans 5:8-9

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." -John 14:6

I'd have to say St. Thomas' own The Matadors.
Fantastic Canadian Rockabilly/Psychobilly, and their frontman, Hooch is not only a superb guitar player, is endlessly entertaining and a great guy off the stage to boot.

    Thousand Foot Krutch.

  • Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and by far. Their songs progress well and the instrumentation is absolutely beautiful. I also find the vocal samples to be very touching at times.

    Nickelback and Three Days Grace.

The beauty isn't only on the melody, but on the letters too. They can sing about everything, and still good songs.
