We want FREE Last.fm Radio for everyone, not only people from "chosen" countries. Last.fm should be equal for all users, we tagged, scrobbled, made wiki pages, and now we got screwed.

Today we’re announcing an upcoming change to the way Last.fm Radio works in some parts of the world. In the United States, United Kingdom and Germany, nothing will change.

In all other countries, listening to Last.fm Radio will soon require a subscription of €3.00 per month. There will be a 30 track free trial, and we hope this will convince people to subscribe and keep listening to the radio. Everything else on Last.fm (scrobbling, recommendations, charts, biographies, events, videos etc.) will remain free in all countries, like it is now.

Since we streamed our first track from Last.fm back in 2002, we have focused on playing the right songs to the right people, compensating artists for playing their music, and being the best music site on the web. We appreciate the support we get from the 30 million people who use Last.fm every month—double the number of people since this time last year. We work with over 280,000 labels and artists, many of whom we pay directly, and have built up the largest catalogue of any web radio platform: over 7 million tracks are available on Last.fm Radio stations.

In order to keep providing the best radio service on the web, we need to ask our listeners from countries other than USA, UK and Germany to subscribe for €3.00 per month. In return you’ll get unlimited access to Last.fm Radio, and a promise that we’ll be hard at work improving the service for years to come.

right! germany, usa and uk: 'good' countries.. the rest falls in other categories...... of course listeners from eastern europe, south america, asia, africa are expected to pay: really, have you thought a lot about that? like: what 3 euro means in uk for instance and what it means somewhere else?! i will never pay for the radio. i loved it ever since i discovered it, i paid sometimes when i wanted to have access to more things and when i could afford paying, but i will never pay permanently AND in these conditions!! as if there were not enough discrimination in the world.. shame!

Isn't the internet supposed to be a tool that gives people from all over the world to the possibility to connect to the rest of the world? Now... what a shame. This is LastFM's contribution to the inequality on Earth: to limit the accessability of the internet to a few mighty people.

Im from Germany and user-radios arent available for me too. And in general, I cant say how disappointed I am by Lastfm. In Germany, most music-videos on youtube arent available for years, so, Lastfm was the last way to listen into music before buying legaly. Musicindustry just doesnt learn.

i do not know how to change mi ip to usa or use proxy in order to listen to the radio,but i know that discriminations still exist and this kind of attitude is being developed everywhere..even in a music-site...shame of them..

it's not fair, just because i'm not from England, Germany or the US i have to pay to listen to the stupid radio, well that's just not going to happen. so what's the difference between us and the people who can freely listen to the radio? answer: there's no difference.

you can use a proxy from the software of last fm, and you can listen the radio from software free =)
