I think, i dont must say a lot about bathory. He died on 7.6. for three years ago. Bathory Fans here ??

I wouldn`t consider Quorthon as the king of Black Metal. He didn`t really beleave in what he sang. What about Viking Metal... He is pioneer of genre. But not the King. Too many Thrash influence in his music IMHO.

Awnsheghlien is right.

I do like Bathory, but it'll never be my favorit band. The sound is to clean for me.

I like the Blood Fire Death album.

Bathory is great, but it's not my favorit band......but songs like "A Fine Day To Die" are fantastic!

bathory is a awesome band with amazing lyrics, just look at the famous song one rode to asa bay, one of their best songs ever (in my opinion=)

Maybe he didn't believed in his black metal lyrics, but the vocals on Hammerheart and Twilight of The Gods are one of the most natural and emotional vocals I've ever heard. For me, a great band and a symbol od REAL music.

I agree! I think The King of Black Metal (let's say like a "black elvis") is EURONYMOUS! Think about that and what he did for black metal - he lost his life!!!

who cares if he believed in his lyrics? does he need to preach church burnings for him to be " true " black metal to you? music is music, take it for what you hear. its this kind of thinking that is so rediculous in the BM community.

when it comes to Bahory , minus the couple 1990's albums, the discography is pretty fucking epic. the black metal albums are groundbreaking and still hold up very well, but their are too few of them to call Bathory a BM band, Bathory is primarily a viking band, but regardless, under the sign of the black mark is still great by today's standards.
