    Just watched it, and I think it was great. I had high hopes about this movie, since 'Batman Begins' was so good. Heath Ledger (R.I.P.) did a great a great job as the Joker. The thread was exciting, and the ending was... Well, it was exquisite.

  • Brilliance...

    I tried to manage my expectations going into the cinema, but it was everything I could have expected and more. Not only is it far and away the best comic book movie of all time, but I seriously think it's up there with some of the greatest masterpieces in cinema history. Every performance was fantastic, especially Heath Ledger's Joker and Gary Oldman as Gordon. The screenplay, direction and cinematography were top-notch, the action sequences were exciting, and the manner in which the story unfolds is totally unexpected - it's a different kind of film to any other we've seen before. A true epic, yet the 150 minute running time feels more brisk than many 80 minute films I've seen. Christopher Nolan can do no wrong, it seems, and I'd go so far as to say that I never want to see another director at the helm of a Batman movie ever again.

  • I loved it. It was extremely atmospheric, it had a touch of political overtones, the villain and hero in it played off each other extremely well, and it was a unique taste on the format of the comic book movie. I still can't say it beat Tim Burton's Batman movies, but in it's own way it sort of equals them.

    I also thought the central theme behind the movie (the line between the tormented hero and the joyful criminal) was very realistic.

  • I wrote this little review over at Flixster.com

    A criminal madman only known as The Joker (Heath Ledger) terrorize the people of Gotham City and Batman (Christian Bale) together with district attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) and Lt. James Gordon (Gary Oldman) are out to stop him before more people die. With "Batman Begins" director Christopher Nolan really gave Batman the ultimate backstory and what I thought was the best Batman movie of them all. Well, with the sequel "The Dark Knight" Nolan does not only top "Begins" but has also succeeded to make the greatest 'comic book' and over all action movie ever made. There was a lot of hype before it's release with the great rep "Begins" have and the death of Heath Ledger who stars as Batman arch enemy The Joker, and let me tell you not only does it live up to the hype, it goes far beyond it. This is more than a 'comic book' movie, more than 'super hero' movie, more than a action thriller, no, this is way more than just a movie.

    Awesomesauce!

    No seriously, it was a really good movie. I can only imagine the fury of the director and how he should make the next movie now with heath gone.

    WoW

    I watched this movie 2 times in theatre and It's still not enough...I want MOAR!xD

  • I loved it, saw it (only) twice. Everyone was perfect for their parts. Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes was a major improvement over Katie Holmes, even if...well. Aaron Eckhart as Two-Face was a surprising choice, but a pleasant one. Gary Oldman as Gordon, awesome. And I was very happy that Cillian Murphy, Scarecrow, made a cameo appearance; he was brilliant in "Batman Begins".
    My only complaint is that we will never have another Joker performance like Ledger's :[ He was a different kind of Joker than that of what we've seen in previous movies (Tim Burton's trash!); not a comical ass, but what he would be like if he were real. Loved it.

  • All wrong...

    It has gone off track from the origial story apart from the char but the stories of how they become who they are and why in the new ones are just lame compared to the ORIGINAL lol.

    So in all a classic gone bad {-_-}

  • I liked it. Ledger, i'm sure you're all tired of this, was amazing. The creepiest Joker i've ever seen. Somewhat cheesy, how they got the fingerprint off the smashed bullet, but, as a whole, totally awesome.

    I agree. Ledger definitely played up to his 'hype' for me. I think he was the best choice for the Dark Knight, for the Joker role. I'm a huge batman fan and a cynic when it comes to how poorly directed some films and even series have been. But, hands down, Ledger performed the best role ever, he will forever be my favorite Joker.

  • It's one of the best films I've ever seen. I usually don't like these superhero films but Dark Knight was something that I really loved. The actors did an amazing job, I really liked Christian Bale as the Batman. And, as everyone else has already said, Ledger as the Joker; much better than the Jokers before him. Such a shame we can't see him in the possible future films. :/
