    Thanks so much for posting the transcript of the speech! The youtube link I'd been watching stopped loading and cut off the last 10 minutes of Obama's speech-- probably the most moving part of it.

    Key Speech in American History

    A believe that when the dust clears, this will be seen as one of the pivotal speeches in the history of our country. No one should fail to read the entire thing... it should take its place by "I Have a Dream" and the Gettysburg Address. It's been a long time since someone talked to us like grownups, and since someone cared more about getting it right than winning. We've been throwing soundbites at this presence in American life that is blocking our way, as slavery once did. The founding fathers knew the country wasn't ready to take on the question in 1775, but it had to be answered at some point or it would bring the country down, just as civil rights had to be addressed fifty years ago. We're at such a juncture now, where we've been in a logjam for decades, and this speech offers a starting place to talk honestly and find our way closer to that original vision, in my humble opinion.
