Beroe is the football magic/religion/team of central Bulgarian city of Stara Zagora. It enbodies the restless feeling of local people for authomony of Stara Zagora ever since it became clear that not a single Bulgarian government is capable of developing and utilising the beauties and nature gifts on the Bulgarian territory. The noble and just actions of the team and its fans are symbolic fist in the face of anyday's authority. The team's motto expresses this better than anything: "Not of my own, not of yer own, the world is Beroe" and leaves a sence of mild aftertaste mixture of anarchism and idealistic communism.
In an unique form of protest against foreign authority Beroe loses all its away games, whereas is unbeatable under green park-o-forest Ayazmoto, where city stadium is located.
Beroe (gr.-iron) was the name of an ancient Thracian police, which was located on the same place where today Stara Zagora is.
