A similar verse occurs two chapters in Leviticus 20:13

  "A man who sleeps with another man is an abomination and should be exeuted." Leviticus is a holiness code written 3,000 years ago. it also includes prohibitions against round haircuts, tattoos, working on the Sabbath, wearing garments of mixed fabrics, eating pork or shellfish, getting your fortune told, and even playing with the skin of a pig. (There goes football!). I believe in morality, which is doing right regardless of what i am told... not in religion, which is doing what i am told regardless of what is right. Your welcome to your own interpretation of the Bilbe and of politics, of course, but for me, I need maore then "the Bible says so" to justify certain things in this world and certainly to judge them."

  @truth_follower: Morality is an implicit agreement between members of a society. They are the implicit rules people must follow to live peacefully. It has nothing to do with deities. Do I need to remind you people constantly bomb themselves against buildings in the name of Allah or that the God of Christianity had to kill all his people in a flood because he was very "pissed off" at them? Extremists would argue with you that is morally fine to kill non-believers. Or to bash different people. Have you ever heard of the Westboro Baptist Church?

  @truth_follower Science is quite capable of defining what is moral. Isn't it very often "the Lord" (both Yahweh and Allah) who says that it's moral and respectful to kill.

  @ truth_follower Our DNA molecules create us by dictating specific advice on our construction. Here's how it happens : The 2 gametes of humans' parents create the first cell in the embryo, the zygote. Then, through Miosis, the zygote reproduces rapidly until we reach 10-100 trillion cells in most humans. There is no general purpose in the Universe. Everyone creates (or not) his/her own subjective purpose. The existence of a soul is yet unproven. The 'lord'/god is a fatherly figure for scared children as Freud would say. Don't be scared. Noone watches you nor listens your prayers. We are just 7 billion Earthly co-passengers trying to figure some things out while floating on the third rock around a random yellow star(Sun) around a random galaxy(Milky Way), and that TRUTH is amazing. Be moral and respectful to each other and try to enjoy your maximum 100-120 years trip on this nice blue rock.
