@Fatbirdsdontfly Yes, we need lots peers and plenty of atheist fora because 200+ years after the Enlightenment, believing in god or gods is an insult to the human intellect and progress. Especially when faced with so much theistic propaganda from the Status Quo. The same applies to the indifferent, dishonest, apathetic and fence-sitting attitude of agnostics. As as a hardcore atheist for more than a decade, I don't hate noone, I just follow reason, common sense and logic. If you oppose and discourage those, then you are a disgrace for your human species, because reason is what makes us different from other animals.

@smiddy012 Yes, it's true that we humans don't have so much knowledge about the universe. However, it's unwise and regressive to assume to the existence of imaginary beings or gods. Such claims are just human assumptions based on fear and mere Stone-Age wishful thinking. Regarding your other questions, just study all sciences and you will find a multitude of decent answers. You are lucky enough to be living amidst the Information Age, just go and get some scientific knowledge, you don't live in 3000 B.C. or something.

Atheism is basically another religion. Like theism, it requires a leap of faith in assumptive thought. How much knowledge does a single-celled organism have concerning Earth? How much knowledge do humans have concerning the Universe? Almost none. It is not within man's means to say with 100% certainty that god (in its broadest definition) does or does not exist. Whether you are theist or atheist, you are still making a leap of faith, you are still failing to acknowledge how miniscule man's perspective is and how little we are able to conclude about our surroundings. Sure, your beliefs are your beliefs, and I can respect that, but you can't state them as a matter of complete certainty as they are scientifically unprovable. We as a species can't answer the question of whether there is a god or not, not yet, not anytime soon, neither atheists or theists have been able to come to terms with this lack of control.

Silly Fatbirdsdontfly *cough*poe*cough*, don't you think its sorta redundant reinforcing one's lack of belief? I sure do. When you go around asserting that atheism = no morals, you really sound like you're farting out of your mouth. I don't follow morals just because Invisible Sky Daddy said so, I do so because I feel its right to treat people the way I want to be treated. I don't see us taking away the rights of theists anytime soon, or even trying to. We don't kill people because they have a lack of belief, as atheism is not a religion, we can't even force ridiculous taboos down people's throats. The same cannot be said for Christians and Muslims though, definite definitely not.

So the fact that I have studied in a university for three years isn't logical? I don't know what you have researched at home but research religion at home is absolutely not as good as being teached by people who actually knows really good what they are doing. If you did understand some basic psychology you would you would understand the mind of a religious person and you would understand that their faith is not connected with their intelligence. And if you have studied history you would get even more information on why they are religious but you act like you know very little of this subjects and the most atheists do because they don't need to know why people are religious they just need to know why they dont believe in a god

Well you just proved youre a dick and ignorant (just reading a bible doesn't equal studying religion). If you had taken several courses in religion and history as I have you would understand what I am saying. Considering your age I can easily say that you have not done as much research as I have (just logical thinking) It's funny that so many atheists dont use logical thinking when they judge religious people. It's easy to just think about them as idiots but it is harder to actually understand why they believe in a supernatural being

If you take time and study why people are religious you would understand. I acted the same when I was 13 years old and just had become an atheist but then I grew up and stopped act like a dick. I have many friends who are christians and I would never consider them dumb.
