johntardsbaby66 Thats a pretty big generalisation... there were still great jazz musicians in the 40's. Esp. the wartime swing and the bebop in the later 40's.

hippomarjorie I agree! The 40s jazz is amazing. I think I'd even have to say that the 40s jazz is better than both the 20s and 30s.

tideghost The Original Dixieland Jazz band is usually credited with the first jazz recordings (1917). Ten years earlier, though, Vess L.
