make your own dynamic tag cloud

  • make your own dynamic tag cloud

    hello everybody!

you may want to take a look at my new tool - http://fxdteam.com/lastcloud/
the main idea is to create automatically regenerating tag cloud to maintain it up to date. in addition i've extended an idea by adding the most relevant artists below each tag. may be you'd like to add it to your last.fm sidebar.

i'd really appreciate any comments you have!

Very cool. The inclusion of artists under the tags is an especially nice touch. Well done!

  • I think it's pretty good though as you can probably tell from the logs I filtered like crazy, but that's only cos there was some gross user mistagging going on (e.g. Ferry Corsten is not house) Anyway, here's mine:

  • hi there!

    i've made some changes today:
    - support for most of the unicode characters (ie japanese, arabic)
    - better overall readability (tags containing characters p/q/g/j/y don't overflow artists now)

and fixed one serious bug (thanks starchaos for reporting) -)

thank you all for the kind words!

My only slight gripe (and it is a very slight one) is that it lists what other people have tagged in the genres.

I certainly did not say NUFAN are Hardcore. :D

But I'm not actually fussed. It's a nice app. Plugin. Whatever you call it. :)

  • lam04, actually there is a small chance that artist will be irrelevant to its tag, cos it only get listed if it has this tag name in its top 15 tags. i can lower this value, but i think it is not going to help much. some people's tagging is weird :) so i really hope it is not a big problem for others too.

  • There should be an option to make it smaller, currently it's a little too big.
