    The scrobbler says that it is looking for scrobbles on my ipod but no scrobbles are ever found. I manually manage my ipod.

  • I have been having the same problem for over a week now.

    Some days some of my scrobbles are found and other days none are found.

    For example I listened to five albums on my iPod today and only one album was scrobbled :S

  • I've been having the same problem as well. I thought it was my new iPod, as I recently had it replaced by Apple, but I'm glad it's not just me having the problem.

    Hopefully Last.fm will come up with a fix soon. They didn't take too long to bring out a fix for the iTunes scrobbler after 10.1 was released.

  • Re:A Possible Fix for OSX

    Thank you jonocole. Now scrobbling after starting iTunes by plugging in my iPod works again for me.

    I've been taking a look through the code and have a possible fix for OSX users:

    * Download http://cdn.last.fm/jono/AudioScrobbler.bundle-221110.zip and double click to extract the AudioScrobbler.bundle file.
    * Quit iTunes and Last.fm
    * Delete the AudioScrobbler.bundle file found in (Your User Home)/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins/
    * Move this AudioScrobbler.bundle to (Your User Home)/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins/
    * Start iTunes and Last.fm

    Please let me know how this goes..

    Unfortunately iPod scrobbling is not an exact science, since apple do not support us in this feature in any way.

    I'll try and work out what's going wrong for Windows users but I suspect there has been close to nothing changed in the last update which will effect iPod scrobbling.

    This seems to have fixed the problem for me. Thanks!

    MacBook Pro 17" 2.66GHz Intel Core i7, Mac OS 10.6.5, iTunes 10.1 (54), Last.fm 1.5.4.27088

  • Hm... I have the same things, but one more:
    My ipod is synched manually, i'm on w7 and don't use itunes as player on pc. So before last updating scrobbler (itunes is 10.01.22) and even after it scrobbles sometimes wrong tracks, sometimes it says, that i've listen ~ 200 times for every found track. Funny. :D
    Yep, for this week it found more than 6000 new tracks.)

    Tried this and still doesn't work for me. After I cleared the user associations the last.fm client refuses to link any iPod / iPhone to any user. It lists the iPod but show nothing on the associated user area.

    Not scrobbling for more than two months now... :-(

    Downgraded to iTunes plugin 3.0.2. and it scrobbles perfectly now. SO HAPPY ^_____^

    Ok right now I think the problem is that the new scrobbler often doesn't associate the ipod to any user.

  • @JEWELian

    what version of iTunes and last.fm do you have?

    i have last.fm 1.5.2,iTunes 9.2.1.5 and iTunes plugin 3.0.2 and doesn't work for me

    :(

    I have iTunes 10.1 and Last.fm Scrobbler 1.5.4 on a MacBook and followed these instructions because Last.fm has not been scrobbling or just on and off scrobbling my iPod for a month or so. Before I connected my iPod again after following these instructions I played one song to check if it would scrobble and it did!

    However I was hoping it would find earlier scrobbles from my iPod, at least from the last two days or so but it hasn't... this won't find earlier scrobbles, even if they're only from a few hours ago, right? :( oh but anyway, I'm glad if it will scrobble from now on.

  • Well now I've download the old plugin and reinstalled everything, but it only scrobbled the last song I played. What's going on?

    Hmmm...apparently "force scrobbling" works. A lot of doubles popped up though. It wasn't unexpected....

    I'm having similar problems to everyone else. Scrobbles from my iPod Nano are very sporadic and miss most if not all of my played songs. Using latest versions of iTunes (10.1.0.54) and Last.fm (1.5.4.27091) on Windows XP SP3. Normal scrobbles from iTunes work fine, it's only the iPod ones that go missing. Strange that no one from Last.fm is commenting on this, seems like a pretty fundamental issue.

    I have the same problem, too, and hope they will fix it soon.

    In the meantime, you can download the installer of the older version (3.0.2) of plugin from the link below. I'm now trying it to downgrade.
    http://cdn.last.fm/plugins/ass/iTunesPluginWinSetup_3.0.2.0.exe

    This worked for me!
    Downloaded the old plug-in and returned to iTunes 9.2, scrobbling just fine!

  • Downgraded (itunes and plugin) and I'm pretty sure it's working now. It's funny, I only started having this problem yesterday and this thread had been open over a week XD
    I will no longer be taking any updates. Too many fuck ups because devs like to add useless little features that screw the entire program sideways.

    My iPod classic was not scrobbled with the 3.0.4.0 version - I had to downgrade to the 3.0.2.0 iTunes plugin version as well - btw thanx to Di-chy

    Last.fm for Windows Version 1.5.4.27091
    iTunes 9.1.1.12
    WinXP SP3

    Downgraded to itunes 9.2 and the 3.0.2.0 iTunes plugin and now I can scrobble again. Liked the old iTunes look better anyway. The new iTunes 10 looks a bit too much like greyed-out. Well maybe it was...

    You have to save you library... there is an option for that in "Archive" :)

    Also iTunes automatically back up the old library into a folder called "Previous iTunes Libraries" whenever you upgrade. If you upgrated recently you can just go back to that.

    For those who don't want to downgrade: go on Help -> Diagnostics -> iPod scrobbling and scrobble from there.

    Now let's wait for last.fm to fix this....

    That's what I do, Diagnostics > iPod scrobbling, but it only finds one or two songs when I've listened to many more.
