Scrobble not picking up iphone tracks

  • Scrobble not picking up iphone tracks

Running itunes 9.2 and have it set to manually manage music and videos.

Nothing comes up even when I go into diagnostics.

    Not sure what to do?

Under Help > Diagnostics > Ipod Scrobbling, change the setting to iTunes automatically manages my iPod. Also under Tools > Options > iPod, make sure all 3 boxes are checked.

I've had the same problem for at least the last couple of weeks. I've tried everything, including editing fm.last.Last.fm.plist and even completely removing last.fm.app from my computer. Every single time, I get "no scrobbles were found on your iPod" even after a full day's listening on my iPhone.

EDIT: It suddenly started working yesterday after logging out and back in.

    Having this problem as well.
Sometimes the scrobbler will pick up 10 of maybe 30 tracks, sometimes 1, most of the time none.

  • same problem here... is there a way to scrobble realtime over 3G?

  • Any solution to this?

  • I'm sick to f***ing death of this. It's been months since I managed to scrobble anything even vaguely accurately from my iPhone. It's doubly annoying as I took out a twelve-month subscription to Last.fm, then shortly afterwards my iPhone stopped scrobbling and we lost the facility to play full tracks. Ace. Thanks. I suppose I should be grateful that the client isn't crashing my Mac anymore. At least it means I'm so old now I can remember the days when I used to enthusiastically recommend Last.fm to everyone I knew...

So I broke into the palace, with a sponge and a rusty spanner...

It would help if you could let us know what you have tried already, have you checked the boxs mentioned in the post above? Is your iPhone manual or automatically update (in the client, go to Help > Diagnostics > iPod Scrobbling)?

Skip the desktop software and just scrobble straight from your phone.

iScrob just hit the App Store with full background scrobbling. http://iscrob.com

Too bad iScrob is a horrible app. Just to switch tracks causes an ad to come up. It especially annoying and dangerous when listening to music while driving. Crashes all the time too. And no, I won't buy their overpriced $5 app to remove the ads if they pull those kinds of tricks.

Why can't anyone create a decent scrobbling app?

i have the most up to date itunes, iphone and lastfm scrobbler versions and it has suddenly stopped scrobbling from the iphone/ipod. Normal desktop scrobbling including via spotify is fine. What can i do? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, manually running the scrobble but nothing seems to work!

    Same here.

    iPhone 3GS, Windows XP SP3, iTunes 10.1.0.56, last.fm 1.5.4.27091, iTunes plugin vn 3.0.4.0

For about two weeks - before I updated to iTunes 10, it just stopped scrobbling. No scrobbles detected when I've had quite a few plays.

    Work-around?

On my system if I do this:

    - start iTunes
    - wait for last.fm to say it's ready to scrobble
    - plug in iPhone
    - sync

...then it seems to be working. Something seems to go wrong if I plug in the phone and allow iTunes to auto-start. Note that I have auto-sync disabled in iTunes and only manually sync once last.fm is up and running, but it does seem to fail in this scenario.

    same problem

I have the latest iTunes on Win7 and my iPhone 4 syncs and scrobbles fine but my old iPod now doesn't scrobble - trying a few things like logging in and out and it's not working. Gonna try a manual sync and see what happens.
