clearly, no one has the solution, so there's no reason to continue posting "I have the same problem".

  • found a solution: download isproggler. it worked for me :)

eject ipod. then exit scrobbling in toolbar. then restart scrobbling (last fm). plug ipod back in.

**update** just rechose for itunes to start when ipod is plugged in. It scrobbled songs but not as many as I know I listened to over the past couple of days. I guess it's a start.

My iPod Touch 1st Gen hasn't been scrobbling for a couple of months now. Only when I read this did I realise it stopped working around the same time I chose to not have iTunes open automatically when i connect my iPod to my PC. I just ticked that checkbox again and reconnected my iPod and it instantly scrobbled 280 tracks from the past two days.
I'll try again tomorrow and see if it scrobbles the tracks and let people know. If so it seems this may be a workaround until this is sorted out properly.

Well, Jesus Christ, I'm alone again
So what did you do those three days you were dead?
'cause this problem's gonna last more than the weekend.

Yeah, the FAQ does state that iTunes must be set to open with the iPod for this to work. The system is sadly complicated.

Just a question, and I wonder if anyone else has this problem...I could be completely clutching at straws here..

I tend to have most problems scrobbling my Ipod when I am trying to scrobble tracks that I have recently added to the Ipod. For example - Not long ago I added an album, and listened to it for the first time, the following day on the way home from work...yet when I went to scrobble my Ipod plays, these new songs didnt feature on the list of scrobbles to submit.....

The same thing happened not long ago...with another album I added. Could be a co-incidence, but I was wondering if there was something in the script that made it easier to scrobble played songs, once the play count is above zero on Itunes?

I still have this problem every time I import new tracks into iTunes and play them on my iPod first.

    WinXP, iTunes 8.0.2.20, Touch 2.2.1, Last.fm Client 1.5.1.

    Any explanation for this?

You mean where is the 'Open iTunes when this iPod is connected' checkbox? Well with my Touch it's on the Summary tab under Options subheading when I select the iPod in iTunes....
It is still scrobbling for me but not always getting all tracks. It also seems to be getting songs for different days in the past even though I connected the iPod that date but it didn't retrieve all listened tracks.

This is a problem I seem to be having as well. Anything I listen to for the first time on my iPod, i.e. not yet in my last.fm library, does not scrobble. Everything seems to work fine, but going through the history reveals anything unheard just gets skipped. It would be great if last.fm could scan my iTunes library and add all of it to the last.fm library...

Okay, so getting rid of the Winamp iPod plugin seems to have fixed the problem. (Winamp, options > plug-ins > portable's > ipod plugin)

I have to do this every time. Even if I exit last.fm and iTunes, and then restart last.fm before plugging in my iPod, it won't work. It's like I have to fail at it once before closing everything and starting it up again will work.

My iPod won't scrobble anything either. It says 'No scrobbles were found' even though I've listened to hundreds of tracks.

How the butterfly came to be:

"Dood, dat flooturby iz stealin all ur milks and booturs" :O
"VUT?!! ...Come back hur, u fookin'...u fookin'.....U FOOKIN' BOOTURFLY!!!!!" !_!
