Problems with Mac OSX Leopard

  • Problems with Mac OSX Leopard

When I open the client it opens twice. I have 2 icons appear, one crashes while the other works sometimes.

    Hope a update is coming.

Last.fm software crashes at startup on Mac OS X Leopard

Last.fm software doesn't start at all. It simply crashes.

We're aware of there being a fuckload of problems concerning the client and Leopard. Fear not, for work shall be focused on ironing these bugs out in the coming days.

k, good. Maybe one of you guys should have been involved in the Leopard dev beta tests!

  • Sounds good you're working on it. Two Last.fm.app icons in the dock confirmed on Leopard here.

Hey, Last.fm was one of the first programs I installed after upgrading. Does that mean I'm really really sad? :)

i just noticed than removing the old app and redownloading it seems to be a workaround. i'm currently looking into it. i fear we can't do much since we can't autoupgrade when the client crashes on startup :(

ok, sadly there are even more issues popping up with itunes. guess we'll have to do some debugging to do over the weekend.

hang in, we'll keep you updated here.

  • iScrobbler works fine with Leopard, I installed the 2.0 beta and it seems cool, so maybe you should try that?

The UI seemed a bit mucked up in the "official" client too, as well as the weirdness with the dock icons.

Judging by the speed that outstanding bugs get fixed, especially on the mac side, don't hold your breath for an update any time soon.

    Web 2.0 professionalism

We're aware of there being a fuckload of problems...
Is this what passes for professionalism on Web 2.0?

It's what works, some people need to get over the bullshit about presentation and realize it's the job that needs attention. The end justifies the means sometimes :)

  • I have the same problem under Leopard: Last.fm just doesn't lauch, but doesn't really crash either. And it starts up when I launch my computer, while it isn't in my startup items. I don't use it: I use Audioscrobbler, but it keeps popping up when I log in, and there's no way to disable this, while the program itself doesn't work. My computer can't shut down either, unless I force-quit the Last.fm client.

Wow, rude much? Let's not forget this is a free program, the developers have acknowledged there are a few problems with a new OS that came out only a few days ago and that they are working on it and here you are picking on them over whether or not they should be allowed to swear. Get over yourselves.

who cares if one of the developers said the word "fuck" you pansies. I don't care how they talk as long as they keep making last.fm so awesome.

and there are always problems with new OS's. At least it still works at all, I was annoyed that two icons pop up, but I would be so pissed if I couldn't use last at all because I got Leopard.

    holla!
  • Able to use the previous version of last.fm

I'm able to use the previous version of last.fm (1.1.3.0) which is available on the downloads page as "If you use OS X 10.3.9, you can download an older version of the client." No iPod/Growl but it gets the job done for now.

Last.fm works fine, but it doesn't scrobble onto your user page.

    Sorry, you're not a winner.

Erm, some of us are paying users there, bucko. Paying for a service and having your main means of accessing that service break on an OS that has been available to software vendors for over a year is not acceptable. It is clear to me that nobody even *tried* it on leopard before it went live.

    Re: Re: Web 2.0 professionalism

Paying or not, we're customers, and we deserve to be treaded with some professionalism.

As a testament to how poorly that language can be received, just witness how this support thread has degraded since the post.

Seeing this, I'm now a FORMER last.fm customer. While one customer may not matter in the short term, every customer does count to a healthy business.

Dear god, let this topic resume the subject it's supposed to have!

I too have 2 icons launching, but no window popping up!

    Tnx for working on it!
