    read the thread.
I did, it's still not working with Doctor O's dll file.

Edit : Really doesn't work, I've put the dll file in the correct directory and can see it and configure it through Winamp's plugins control panel, so I'm sure it's properly installed.

Edit 2 : Nevermind, there was apparently some significant lag but my tracks did scrobble properly. Thanks DrO~ And sorry for the disturbance.

Final step of my trouble-shooting: I switched back to Winamp 5.35. Didn't hurt since Winamp 5.5 is no big deal after all.

  • I'm having the same problem, the last.fm icon will say I'm listening to something I was listening to about 20 minutes ago and the website is missing a ton of the tracks played.

    Winamp 5.5 build 1640

Everything working like a charm with DoctorO's plugin. I love the plugin and hate the bloated client. Good thing the plugin is open source, else i would have to switch to the client.

Taking a few cues from DoctorO's post earlier in this thread, we've now updated the official plugin to work with the new method of track play detection required by Winamp 5.5. The new method is used for all Winamp versions above 5.0 and the old method for older versions. This should mean that it will keep working for all Winamp users, regardless of version.

Before we make it live, could I please ask you to give this one a go and let us know if it fixes your problems:

Many thanks for your patience with this.

    works great thx

thanks, I think it will work for me too, it drives me mad if the scrobbling doesn't work..

  • sharevari, plugin v2.0.46.0 works fine for me; last.fm client picks up track changes and scrobbles fine. (XP SP2, WA 5.5, Bento skin, last.fm client 1.3.2.13). Thanks for the quick fix.

And DoctorO: big thanks for the work too. Much appreciated. Allowed me to keep listening without missing any scrobbling (imagine the shame if that happened ... :-)

OK, thanks to DoctorO, we've now also managed to iron out a few other niggles with the Winamp plugin and thought we might as well bundle those with this update as well.

The .47 version also contains the following fixes:

    * Tracks with Unicode characters now show up correctly in task bar.
    * APE tags can now be read and sent to Last.fm.

    http://static.last.fm/plugins/ass/WinampPluginSetup_2.0.47.0.exe

Could I please ask you to try it out and if it seems fine, we'll push this out as an autoupdate after the weekend.

    Thanks!
