Ipod shuffle doesnt scrobble and random iphone association

    Hi
I guess my first question is, do ipod shuffles have the ability to scrobble? I am currently using the most up to date iTunes 10.5.11.2 and the most up to date ipod scobble plugin. When I dock the ipod shuffle, it says its "determining the scrobbles.." but then a minute later it will say "no scobbles dtected", even though I probably have played about 30 songs fully thorugh.

The funny thing I do see is when I check the "associations on the Last.fm client it gives me two: an ipod and iphone association. The thing is that I do not have an iphone.

Any information would be extremely helpful!! Thanks!

Can you try using the Clear associations button, then following the iPod scrobbling FAQ here?

Thanks for reply...I have done that in the past but wll try one more time..I do want to confirm that ipod shuffles are able to scrobble (just since they are made a bit different than Nanos, Classics etc..)

They do, but from my experience they can be a bit temperamental in that they might not scrobble at all, then next time you connect you get a whole load.

Thanks - I followed what the FAQ said and cleared associations etc...And what I came up again for this iPod shuffle was "dual asscociations" ie has an ipod association and an iPhone association (though I dont have an iPhone) This is a bit strange correct?

Also, as has always been, after reysincing, undocking, playing some songs, then re syncing it found no scrobbles

So I ended up going into my Itunes and change unchecked "Manage music manually", which then "ungreys" the "Enable disk" checkbox. This actually worked for my Ipod shuffle and it scrobbled for the first time ever. Why was this needed for it to work?

Also still am curious why my Ipod shuffle shows up in the "asscociations" box as both an ipod and iphone. Thanks!
