iTunes - Scrobbler pretents to work, but stops scobbling after one song

I tried everything from diagnosing to reinstalling - but somehow the problem won't go away. I use the newest MacOS and I've never had serious problems with the scrobbler before...
also, if i open the diagnostic board - there will only be the one song in the cache that started playing when i restarted the player. if i press refresh - even if there is another song playing already - the scrobbler will start to scobble the song from before again. very strange.
