Date of the first scrobble

  • Date of the first scrobble

We can easily check the date of the first scrobble of a track by entering the track's page. I wish there was something like that for artists.

Just change the artist in the URL to check a different one.

There is one problem with this feature for those who joined in the early days of Audioscrobbler.com and Last.fm. On the "Max" setting for my listening to Diana Krall, it says my first listen was on February 22, 2005 when in fact I had many scrobbles from before that date. I do not know whether this discrepancy is caused by the length of time of the "Max" setting or from the fact that there are no time stamps attached to scrobbles dated before February 13, 2005. I suspect the latter because it would be impossible to chart a scrobble on a timeline if the scrobble had no time stamp (the "Max" setting, in fact, may be set based on the introduction of time stamps).

However, this feature is great for artists first listened to since February, 2005, and for users who have joined since then.

EDIT: I went back and looked at my timeline for All artists and the earliest play is dated February 14, 2005. Almost a year's worth of scrobbles are not accounted for because they do not have a time stamp.
