    Win 64-bit here to stay - where's LastFM Scrobbler, eh?

    General 32-bit UPDATE
    This platform is new ie: Intel SSD hardware and Win 64
    LastFM Srobbler was 'fine' until ...
    2012 Jan 01 at 07:00 AM Microsoft decied to kill IE32

    IE32 is dead on Win 64.
    At same time, LastFM Scrobbler ... went into track recycle mode.
    [and was a bitch to reinstall]

    "General information about the Scrobbler ... The scrobbler is available for Windows XP and Vista and Mac OS X 10.4 or later, as well as a source tarball for Linux users. Other operating systems are not supported." ...meeeYOW!

    Skiye: 'Win 64 works "fine" [for now]' NOT.

    (much as mom loves her mac 10.7 facebook lapper taps, no sound system,
    family's sound system is Windows 64 and we are really missing
    LastFM - keeping our subscription going ...

    unlikely to ever see another scrobble release

    They haven't done a single bug fix for the scrobbler in the last year; they are unlikely to release anything new any time soon. If you look at their blog, it highlights all the music-label like stuff they are doing now, and I suspect that focus extends through out the company. The tech stuff just got them on the map, and now they are moving on to fun stuff.

    you could try to run the existing 32 app with compatibility mode
    (each app has a property context menu where you can let it run under an older windows version setting)

    last.fm tools: music soulmates, recommender for: bands, last.fm groups, trends, ...

    Hmmm. Now that gets super interesting! Plug that thar Scrobbler active-x into Internet Explorer (64-ahem).

    So you can run 64-bit in compatibility mode for 32-bit? That's a FANTASTIC idea.

    Seriously though, Symantec warned me not to ever use IE32 - it's getting totally wasted in the new 64-bit internet. Donkey-on-the-Freeway ware. Trajic bloody mess, we agree.

    What's positive is technology that moves thousands of times faster - and what that is doing for music.
