Thu 3 Jul – O2 Wireless Festival
Well... That was an odd one.
I arrived stupidly early due to being overly neurotic and not wanting to miss The Whip. This turned out not to be a problem as when I say early, I turned out to be an hour and a half early, however, due to many freebies and things I was able to have a free lunch and more free milkshake than you can shake a stick at (as well as a load of other corporate freebies).
After all that I wandered over to a rather hot tent which was rather busy, especially for the first band on. The Whip were both fantastic and a bit of a disappointment. They had oodles of presence and were ~really~ tight, however the vocalists voice just doesn't quite cut it live.
Next up (in the same rather warm and busy tent) were Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip. They were ace. Very few bands do political these days, let alone with angry and funny as well. Lots of fun, great stage presence and much humility… -
O2 Wireless review - 4th July

Thu 3 Jul – O2 Wireless Festival
I've typed up a review of the Friday on my own blog here. I managed to see Peter and the Wolf, The Reprieve, The Rascals, Dirty Pretty Things (twice), The Black Kids, Guillemots, Liam Finn, The Wombats, Beck, The National and Morrissey.
If you disagree with anything, feel free to comment. I sense I'm going to get tons of hate mail for my Morrissey review anyway.
