don1985 it was I that called them sunn zero bracketbracketbracket. i thought it had way more of a ring to it than just "sunn"

NoiseThelonius That guy who left the comment at the bottom who claims that Lightning bolt's "audience seems to consist of a majority of cunts these days" needs to get a life. Just because you move around and have fun at a gig doesn't mean you can't enjoy the music. I wish people had moved around for more of the bands. Also I'm sure he was the guy who complained about me shouting too loudly. He kinda pissed me off to be honest, I was just trying to have fun. Apart from that it was amazing though.

angelsighs can anyone remember the setlists for some of the acts, in particular eits or polvo?

JamesBass Another highlight from me was spotting Mike Vennart from Oceansize walking around centre stage during Múm! That was cool, but I was too scared to say hi.
Dezember 2009 -
burtpatarach Couple of questions. Whats the title of the Afrirampo song about stars fading out that she was adorably trying to describe. Also, shellac played 2 new songs, no? What were they?

conduit1984 @jrisgod: That was my third time seeing Lightning Bolt but it seems to me that the reason they have to play on a stage now is because a lot of people turn up to act like dicks at the show because of the bands reputation. The first time I saw them a few years ago there were people dancing and pushing but it was fine, the same goes for the second time when I saw them play on the floor of the venue. At this show there seemed to be a load of metalhead retards moshing and loads of people crowdsurfing over and over again and getting repeatedly kicked in the head by some sweaty teenager gets old very quickly. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for people having a good time at a show but I think LB fans are gradually becoming stupider as can be seen by looking at their shoutbox on here. Great weekend nonetheless and LB were still awesome.

Charactarantu1a Unbelievable weekend, my first ATP and I will be sure to go back as soon as I can. Main highlights for me were Lightning Bolt, The Mars Volta, Battles, Deerhoof, Sunn O)))'s first set, Dirty Three.
Dezember 2009 -
mr_chopper @destroy_music: Yeah, somebody really wanted one of those t-shirts that they pushed me in the back and yanked it at hard as they could. Fucking douche. Elbowed a girl too. @BUTTNAKEDWONDA: You're right - some people are pricks. Before I went to ATP I was afraid of its rep of being a closed-circle muso festival, but I've since been back every year and had a wonderful time. The organisers really made a concerted effort to make it better for everybody every year and this one was no exception. Hopefully next time will reaffirm your faith for you! Don't let dicks ruin your day! (BTW, as much as I "grew out of Leeds" when I was a teenager, this year's line-up was the mad notes...)
Dezember 2009 -
wizzooo Highlights, shellac twice, melvins, mudhoney, Om, lightning bolt, breeders. Lowlights, sleepy sun, Steve Malkmus (as he was in a filthy mood, and played obsure songs which are either new or covers.) Gotta also say that its a bit of annoying of atp to give nearly all the bands signed to their label ( the drones, sleepy sun etc) plum times during the weekend. Apart from that had a blast and cant wait till the groening atp. Also a big shout out for splashworld, which was once again great with a hangover. The space bowl and neptune ride were a lot faster this time!
Dezember 2009 -

destroy_musick oh and meeting the drummer to Mountains Became Machines was also badass
Dezember 2009 -

destroy_musick Sunn 0))) were the highlight for me, as were Melvins, porn, Shellac and mum. Stephen O'Malley's pick hit me in the face, and some fucker stole a Melvins shirt from me in mid flight, dislocating my finger :(
Dezember 2009 -
BUTTNAKEDWONDA It was my first ATP and although i was with a friend who has identical taste in music and a couple who just came because it was my 21st everyone seemed to enjoy it. I'll probably go again but the only thing i have to say is that i felt a little hostility towards my friends and even myself, seemingly telling people you're there for modest mouse isn't good enough and some guy in the smoking area near the irish bar actually went on to dissect, in some detail, one of my favourite bands and also had something to say about my Leeds festival wristbands. If that was you, then you're a prick. All in all i did have a well good birthday and Modest Mouse were my highlight. Edan's 'The Dee Jay' set was also great although the majority of that Friday night is now a blurrr.

trixietrinian "The best bit was after the first 45 minutes or so when Attila came out with his laser gloves and crystal skull" oh shit, i can't believe i missed that! we only caught about 30 mins of the second sunn set, the first one was astonishing though, definitely a highlight. also lightning bolt, shellac, melvins. kind of regret missing afrirampo now seeing all this positive feedback, really wanted to watch om though (they were great too!). awesome festival, thanks to everyone involved in making it happen :)
Dezember 2009 -
rock666 Glad Lightning Bolt got people jumping around, and it was a bit mental with Afrirampo (band of the weekend?) crowd surfing .... whilst everyone else was in bed. Loved the spontaneous turning of the mushroom into a giant drum after too. Battles wern't as good I remember as last time I saw them. Dirty Three were great. Shellac's banter was on an equal also...had to come home and dig out End Of Radio, a band which I'd shockingly passed by for a long time. Explosions were pretty damn awesome too. Ahh awesome weekend....hope everyone had fun :)

mat35 Hahahaha. I heard some call them SUNN ZERO CLOSE BRACKET CLOSE BRACKET CLOSE BRACKET... That was my favourite.
Dezember 2009 -
jrisgod The best bit was after the first 45 minutes or so when Attila came out with his laser gloves and crystal skull, my 4th time seeing Sunn O))) and the best show yet. Not sure what you expect people to do when watching Lightning Bolt? Stand still with arms folded? I guess having them on stage allowed people to go a little more wild than usual.
Dezember 2009 -
conduit1984 I really like Monoliths and Dimensions but that second SunnO))) set was like a bad joke. There were a few cool moments but I stuck it out for 40 minutes and realised it wasn't going to get any more interesting. Shellac and Melvins were awesome, Lightning Bolt was madness but it's a pity that their audience seems to consist of a majority of cunts these days. Watching them on a stage was like seeing Slayer or something and I had to defend my glasses from getting smashed apart from a load of spastic wankers a few times.
Dezember 2009 -
thecuriosity "someone saying sunn are called. 'Sunn 0 BRACKET BRACKET BRACKET. ha ha" that might have been my flatmate, he was convinced it was a much better name. the second set was disturbingly loud. there were a lot of people leaving in the first 10/20 minutes around me. shellac were great as well, and explosions, wonderful. awesome weekend guys, keep it up!
Dezember 2009 -
ulanbator3 Is it me or do Shellac just keep getting better every year? Deerhoof and Sleepy Sun among the other stand-outs for me. Oh, and please put Beef Warehouse DJs back in the Crazy Horse bar next year and give them at least a four-hour slot on the Saturday night. Thanks again ATP. Keep it up.
Dezember 2009 -
jami3m Ooh, Apse were really good too.
Dezember 2009 -
devilbond Dirty Three, Múm, Crispin Glover, Sun O))), Deerhoof, Explosions, Tortoise, Devendra... so much goodness.
Dezember 2009 -
Souldark Explosions, Sunn first set and Shellac both sets for me; incredible weekend regardless. Rock on another 10 years of ATP!
Dezember 2009 -
Keefj sun O))), melvins, múm, lightning bolt, dirty three the highlights for me battles were unbelievably shit.

ArticFox Sunn O))) second set was incredible. Fuck Buttons played on of the best shows I've ever seen, the floor was bouncing during Flight of the Feathered Serpent. YYYs great, Shellac great, Deerhoof great. Was a little disappointed by Battles, new stuff sounds a bit fairground. Gutted I missed Lightning Bolt, that queue was absolutely ridiculous. Modest Mouse were a lot better than i was expecting, quite a few older ones thrown in there.
Dezember 2009 -
jrisgod Lightning Bolt's set is probably in my Top 5 of all time, complete fucking madness. Much better playing on stage than in the crowd too.
Dezember 2009 -
NoiseThelonius Ah, lightning bolt and afrirampo performing together. Fucking amazing!
Dezember 2009 -
JamesBass My favourites were Fuck Buttons, Dirty Three, Melvins and Sunn O))). Didn't see one bad performance though, I wish the sound for Josh T. Pearson was better. Such an excellent weekend! Hope everyone else enjoyed it too!

ntwrock I //was// gonna go to Lightning Bolt, but we were in our cabin prior to this desperately trying to drink the rest of our beer... and I somehow fell asleep and woke up at 2:30.. quite gutted. Other than this, the Breeders were one of my highlights, just felt they captured the mood of the event quite well!
Dezember 2009 -
Beskhu3epnm SUNN.
Dezember 2009 -
evilrobots Afrirampo were my highlight...until that final hour of music when Lightning Bolt blew EVERYTHING away!
Dezember 2009 -

Slushofield The Mars Volta, Afrirampo and Deerhoof for me.
Dezember 2009 -
smallred Totally enjoyed the familiar: Fuck Buttons, Battles, Explosions, Breeders, Mudhoney - thank you for playing Touch Me :) The new stuff that blew me away: Afrirampo - those loony birds!, Porn, Josh T. Pearson (shouldn't have had that party last night), Sunn O))) - turned all the lights off and hit VIBRATE, Lightening Bolt - accessorized with Afrirampo women watering the audience with beer and themselves, Shellac (dismantling their drummer). So much good music, so little time!!!
Dezember 2009 -
jami3m Sun o))) nearly killed everyone. Almost made me kill myself... Having never really heard the Mars Volta, I gotta admit they were amazing.
