matt0009 I'll be going this year, though I haven't been since 2005. I wish they had more solid headliners for the recent shows. 2005 There was The Pixies and Elvis Costello. Last year the Black Crows and Jimmy Buffett. Ick. Pete Seeger will be cool to see, though I wish he wasn't doing both Saturday and Sunday shows. If Dylan played Sunday instead... Wow.

bamjuggler I went to the Newport Folk festival in 2005 and 2008. There were 3 or 4 stages: one main stage with a big field (and people bring their own blankets or lawn chairs etc. to sit on), and 2 or 3 smaller stages (with a roof and a limited number of folding chairs or benches underneath).
