The line-up is better than I've ever seen it before. I was originally going just for a day out, but now the music is going to be a real high point. Dizzee, Calvin, Florence, Basement Jaxx, The Maccabees (although I won't get to see them :( ) are all going to be amazing. Still a lot of crap, I know, but this is being broadcast on TV all day, so you have to expect it.

I agree with Stacey, saw the Sats live and loved it! Thought they were brilliant. And exactly, McFly are clearly popular; if you read the @ replys to T4 on twitter you can see lots of people wanted them there. I think its a shame they're not there but hey..

The Saturdays are amazing live, I saw them on their tour at Ipswich. Can't wait to see them again! It's a shame McFly aren't there though. Who cares whether an event is "credible" or not, isn't it about having a good time and enjoying the music?

Completely agree about Florence and the Macabees actually! I'll watch Florence but would have loved to have seen The Macabees. I'm surprised she's on the main stage as well, would have preferred to see her on the 4music one tbh.

Amazingly, I actually wrote that comment before seeing the stage times. What a guess, eh? Anyhow, stupidly stupid clash between Florence and the Machine and The Maccabees. I'm not missing Florence but missing Maccabees will make me sad. I'll have to wait until Reading. I thought Florence would be on the 4 Music Stage, I can't see her being suited to a main stage, we'll see.

Agreed on the Metro Station comment. But I think they've got the balance of popular artists (Alesha Dixon, The Saturdays etc.) with the not-as-popular-but-bloody-good artists (The Maccabees, Florence and the Machine, Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris [although the last two are popular as well]) perfect. At the end of the day, as you say, this is being broadcast on TV, and T4 have obvously kept this in mind. As for the headlining comment, I don't really see this event as ever having a stand-out headliner, although out of who is on at the moment, I'd have though a duo finish from Dizzee and Calvin would be big enough with maybe an exclusive first live performance of "Holiday"? Who knows, we'll see, there may be more to still be announced...

Don't get me wrong I'm more than happy that Katy Perry and Lady Gaga aren't there. I just expected that, considering the whole event is basically for tv, that they would have tried to get the most popular artists they could. Everyone expected one of those two to be headlining and tbh based on the line up last year I wouldn't have said they were out of their reach. As for the McFly comment...T4 are meant to leave a talented and popular band off the line up for the sake of being credible? Do Metro Station not ruin the credibility of the event anyway?

Clearly they decided on quality performers at their event this year ahead of the generic, manufactured crap of Katy "ooh look at me I might be a bit of a lesbian" Perry and Lady "well maybe who knows, I could be a lady, although its highly doubtful, more probably a horse in disguise" Gaga. As for McFly, the lack of them alone has made this event actually credible for the first time.
