Time Out On The Up

On The Up isn’t for the faint-of-heart this month. Headlining are sweaty London trio Cutting Pink With Knives, a band who run electropop off the rails and into the badlands of arty skronk, post-hardcore and deranged noise.

Suitably leftfield support is supplied by oddbods Agaskodo Teliverek, a Hungarian-Japanese band whose name means ‘rearing stallions’. They’ll confuse your ears with frantic, engagingly trashy and surprisingly poppy tuneage, cutting surf guitar riffs with mashed beats and acid house squelches.
