Beschreibung
Hours after the atrocity in Sandy Hook, some friends hailing from the surrounding area asked for help putting together a benefit for those affected. Without hesitation we agreed to help and got to work that night.
Over the last month we brainstormed endlessly, and came up with two diverse bills of Connecticut bands and bands with deep CT ties.
This Wallingford show, presented by Arc Agency features With Honor and My Heart to Joy (both reuniting for this weekend), Hostage Calm, Call It Arson and Newtown's own Ovlov.
Another show is happening Friday February 8th at the El N Gee in New London features Misery Signals, Life In Your Way, Make Do And Mend, Corelia and TWIABP.
We hope that these shows can not only be a tribute to those who lost their lives but also to their friends, family and anyone else impacted.
WITH HONOR
Formed in 2002 in the hardcore breeding grounds of Connecticut, the members of With Honor banded together to “start a fast energetic band that had something positive to say. We wanted to keep the music modern, but using older influences as well,” said guitarist Jay Aust. With Honor immediately established a solid team which consists of vocalist Todd Mackey, guitarists Jay and Jeff Aust, bass player Jack Caron and Jon Ross on drums. The band originally teamed up with Stillborn Records and released 2004’s Heart Means Everything which was extremely well received by punk and hardcore scenes alike. With Honor toured incessantly in support of the aforementioned release with bands like Hatebreed, Sick Of It All, and Comeback Kid and gained numerous fans by playing festivals like New England Metalfest, Hellfest, and Skatefest, gaining the attention of several large independent labels.
With Honor broke up in 2006, played various reunion shows/tours in 2008 and 2010, and are now reuniting once again in 2013 for this cause.

MY HEART TO JOY
My Heart To Joy (formerly My Heart To Joy At The Same Tone) was a band from Kensington, CT, whose style is reminiscent of classic '90s emo. Formed in 2006, they released several EPs, limited tour releases and a full length titled, “Seasons in Verse,” until breaking up in 2011. This is a one-time reunion.

CALL IT ARSON
Call It Arson was conceived in 1994 in a Connecticut basement when friends Ryan White and James Downes were eleven years old. Officially formed as a quartet in 2002, their sound can be compared to classic and modern rock acts such as The Police, The Cure, Karate, and Weezer; but members acknowledge a wide range of musical influences. "Ryan and I started out covering The Beatles," Downes admits, "but we have been heavily influenced by groups ranging from Death Cab for Cutie to Coalesce, Jackson Browne to Earth Crisis, Sunny Day Real Estate to Michael Rose." The name Call It Arson is a statement of hope and perseverance (James wrote this part), deconstructing the corrupt, building something honest in its place.

WOLVES AT BAY
WOLVES AT BAY comes from Hamden, CT. The band is made up of William Hayes on vocals and guitar, Kevin Rodriguez on guitar, and Matt Smith on bass. The band cites SMALL BROWN BIKE and THURSDAY as influences, and it certainly shows in their music. There are also elements of BRAND NEW and late-era CRIME IN STEREO, as well as components of gruffer, more aggressive acts like POLAR BEAR CLUB and HOT WATER MUSIC. Wolves At Bay’s effective, tasteful take on all these different sounds results in a unique take on the post-hardcore and emo genres.
